QuoteIrix Quoteswiss Who is the 2nd long-time poster who died in the same week? Not exactly the same week, but it was Hairball - . Thanks, Irix - Hairball was indeed a long-time poster. RIP!

Quotekovach I remember reading somewhere the Stones heard the Byrds were going on tour and asked Gram why he wasn't heading to meet them and basically said he'd rather hang out there, and they kind of got disillusioned with his work ethic and told him to hit the road. That was 1968. Mathijs was asking about 1973 - it's a great question. Greenfield is probably, but not necessari

Quotegotdablouse Very odd turn of events, if he'd just said that he'd selected the artists he likes best I hope it would have been ok ?! Exactly - he should have said "After publishing my autobiography, Hatchett approached me about writing a book on a topic of my choosing. I decided a fun project would be to focus on highlighting a handful of artists who express themselves in a w

On second thought...I never considered this until tonight. This is graphic, but (not firsthand knowledge) when people mainline heroin, they stick in the needle (plug in), draw out blood (flush out), and inject the heroin and blood back in (fire the f0cking feed, if you will). However...Keith didn't mainline. He injected heroin intramuscularly. So, maybe it isn't about shooti

Quotekv2915 They could sell a few stadium shows in Vegas and make more money in less time than with the Sphere. I don’t need Adele like pricing to keep the hardcore fans away. Vegas would gouge. It's not "Vegas" that would gouge; it's the Stones. Mick likes money. A lot. -swiss

QuotespikenycDo you really think Keef or any of the Stones want to spend an extended amount of time in Vegas? What's wrong with spending time in Vegas...? Unless it's mid-June through mid-September, it's beautiful! The desert, the mountains, Lake Mead, Hoover Dam, views where you can see for 200 miles, you can rent an enormous, glorious secluded house, and of course the swee

QuoteDandelionPowdermanThe easiest way to distinguish Brian's and Keith's slide playing is to listen for vibrato, which is totally absent in Keith's playing. Love In Vain has soul and style, but lacks vibrato. Great point, Dandy! And His Majesty - yes, I hadn't thought of You Got the Silver similarities. Thanks both. -swiss

His Majesty - qq: is there any slight remote possibility that Brian played the slide part in Love in Vain? I was listening to the isolated slide part last night and I thought...that sounds unlike any slide part KR has played, or even played on Let It Bleed. I know in May 1968 recording sessions at Olympic, Love In Vain was played (with possibly early recorded takes). -swiss

...Sacramento...Omaha...? Unusual picks for cities to visit in the US - curious how you picked those! Since you'll be in the Bay Area you must go to Amoeba (original location is in Berkeley and the larger store is in SF - both are great; Berkeley might be less picked over than SF) And crossing over from San Francisco to East Bay, where Berkeley is, check out my friend's store-

Quotepaulspendel Sam Cutler asked to meet me in 2022 regarding Brian’s death. I noticed he had teamed up with Geoffrey Giuliano who is to be avoided at all costs. hi there, can't seem to find an actual date Mick, Keith, Anita, and Gram Parsons (+Michael Cooper) went to Stonehenge. Seeing reference to July 1968 (improbable), August 1968, and May 1968. Anyone know? gramparsons.com appears to have been hacked; however, a snippet displayed in Google Search results would suggest May 1968. The Byrds were kicking off a short European tour in early Ma
