Definitely not May 5th (we held back the article). Also I took longer than usual to write it, partly because it was the first time we'd published a feature on an act that DIDN'T have a record out (that was why we were called New RECORD Mirror). I remember it (reasonably) well. In fact I'm currently penning my Record Mirror memoirs and have now documented that episode. But it IS confusing. Is anybody out there still interested? Best to all from Norman Jopling, Record Mirror reporter from 61-68.
