I think that the weakest point of Dirty Work are the drums: apart of the horryfing '80's sound, Charlie doesn't swing at all; he plays everything straight, and there is no interplay at all. The drums are a very important part of the Stones' sound, and the bad conditions of Charlie during those sessions definitely affect the whole record. I therefore agree with who rates Dirty

It's the same comment Mick Jagger gives about his statement "sexually satisfied, philosophically tryin'", in the press conference filmed in "Gimme Shelter", right?

To me the cover of "Let It Be...Naked" looks like a rip - off of the "Emotional Rescue" one.

Brown Sugar intro in Amsterdam 2003; I was there and did not realize it was Brown Sugar until Mick started singing! By the way, the Stones are great live also for their capacity to get through the @#$%&-ups on stage.

It sounds strange to me that Keith has talked about "Don't Stop" as the new "Start me up"...in "According to the Rolling Stones" he speaks about that song in a complete different way...:-/

Hi, Smilingsun. these lyrics are indeed quite puzzling, and there has been some discussion about their meaning in newsgroups over the net; The main theories on it are the followings: 1) It has something to do with the Beatles visit to the Yogi. 2) It references British exploits in India/Afghanistan in the late 1800s. Apparently a large group of British solders were wiped out by local res

Bruley is right, a lot of Goddess In the Doorway stuff is really very danceble, I think due mainly to the drummer, Ian Thomas: his work in this record is fantastic, it really makes you feel like dancing. Miss You, Dance part 1 and Sex Drive are the first Stones dance songs that come into my mind.
