Put it into perspective the 'Stones' creative peak song writing wise was from 1964 - 1978 yet they did not have any serious money due to their tax problems in the UK in 1970 which took 7 years to resolve. By 1979/ 1980 they discovered that they could make loads of money by playing largescale concerts worldwide and there was no need to bother seriously about song writing especially as

It's been on TV advert in the UK for the last 3/4 weeks. That catchy tune that most people hum to but havent a clue that it is sung by the 'Stones' Still sounds as fresh and enjoyable today as when i first heard it in 1967.

The 'Stones were red hot 2nd show O2 Arena London and the crowd was treated to a top notch performance. Was also at show one O2 Arena which in itself was pretty special. Mind you just being at a 'Stones concert for nearly two hours is amazing no matter which one it is.

Hey Negrita is an excellent song on the Black & Blue album with others such as - Memory Motel Hot Stuff Hand of Fate Crazy Mama Melody This album is sometimes not fully appreciated by many Stones'fans as the band broke away from standard stonesy sounds and tried something completely different with great results. I must admit that releasing 'Fool to Cry' as the

Can you possible think that the 'Stones' would have the inclination or take the time and effort to rake thru old takes and improve the quality and content so that they would be commercially viable. Many of the songs named would make up a great album and i also really wish that they would listen to thier fanbase and do it. Mind you when your worth £70 - 150 million who really would car

Face it the well is dry. The 'Stones' don't have the need nor the motivation to spend days together in a recording studio trying to create new songs that will be compared with their greatest creative period 1964 - 1978. Put yourself in their place - they have just finished a record breaking 2 year world tour with a paying audience 4.68m and gross takings $560 million dollars.

Brian excellent musician/reasonable overall guitar player was responsible for forming the 'Rolling Stones' His musical contribution was terrific as we all know e.g. Lady Jane,Mothers Little Helper,Out of Time etc. and at that stage he was heavily particpating in the way that the 'Stones' sounded. Unfortunately too many drugs busts and not turning up for 'Stones' re

Most times you go to a 'Stones' concert and the time fly's buy in a minute or two never mind 2 hours. When Mick & co started 'Midnight Rambler' in the usual 'bluesy' way i knew we were in for a great rendition of this live song which really expounds the band from start to finish live. For some strange reason i was watching Mick's actions

No matter how popular the 'Beatles' were and still are they themselves no matter how big their egos were in 1969 would have considered asking the 'Stones' to open up for them. Excellent songwriters /reasonable guitar players but live performance was not their fortee from 1966 - 1969 onwards. The 'Stones' would have blown them away in live performance and there is

Brians role as a catalyst in moving Mick & Keith from 'Little Boy Blue & the Blue Boys into a more serious band ( a la 'Rollin Stones' as named by Brian has never been in doubt) In 1962 Brian,Mick & Keith were all trying to find their way job wise and the music was a serious hobby for their own personal entertainment and enjoyment more than a career. At this stage

In June 1962 Brian Jones and Keith Richards spent most of their days playing guitar and listening to records. Mick is still studying at London School of Economics. Brian,Mick and Keith had rented a flat at 106 Edith Grove. Keith Richards is perported to have said: Downstairs was livin' four old whores from Liverpool. Isn't it a coincidence? Real old boots they were. The boys continu

Accurate information from 1960-61 is pretty hazy and Keith was expelled from Dartford Technical School but no specific mention of him being expelled from Sidcup Art School. After Mick & Keith discovered their mutual interest in Rhythm'n Blues on the Railway Station platform they have a mutual friend,Dick Taylor, who plays guitar in a group with Mick called Little Boy Blue and the Blue B

Re: Rolling Stones 'beat tour record' « Reply #2 on Today at 12:03am » -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Strange how all you hear by posters on Shidoobe/IORR is that the 'Stones' have only played to half empty arenas/stadiums. Does 3.5m people at 110 shows suggest that that the 'Stones' are finally washed up a

Brian was an excellent slide guitar player and could play any instruments that he laid his hands on. He was a very talented individual with good looks and golden locks playing in a top rock band from 1962 - 1969. He certainly added musical value to the 'Stones' and his contribution must never be under estimated. So we are back in late 1967 and the 'Stones have had a bummer of ye

Such a sorry tale of the excesses of a 1960's Rock & Roll star. This should be put to bed and Brian should be remembered as the brilliant young slide guitarist/musician extrodinar who encouraged others to form a band which he called the 'Rolling Stones'

Without Mr.Shampoo as Mick & Keith nicknamed him as he was always washing his hair upto twice a day there would have been no 'Rolling Stones' Brian was the founder member of the band played excellent slide guitar, harp and could play any instrument that he picked up . Hard to believe that with the 'Stones' having been on tour for a year that ABB has only sold 524,000 copies in the USA. Yet 'Jump Back'released some months earlier has sold over a 1.0m plus healthy sales again for '40 Licks in the USA. It would appear that people are buying the 'Stones' greatest hits complilations in the USA and basically are just ignoring the
