There is no guarantee that she will be doing Gimme Shelter; but, after Brooklyn's show, I'd MUCH rather have Lady Gaga on Gimme Shelter than Mary J. Mary can hit the notes, Mary fits the part, but Mary didn't know when to shut up. She sang over Keith and Ronnie's guitar parts -- that ruined the song for me. Florence was very good, but I'd prefer GS to be done by a soul

I can't believe it was ever #19. Only 2 new songs. The singles should be high, the album should not be high.

Quotearthritis Here's another train wreck that made me cringe. Don't get me wrong, i'm not making fun. I just enjoy the cringeworthy moments along with the great performances alike. Unlike the controlled environment of a stones concert, i can understand how something like this would lend itself to a train wreck. Wow, must not have been too long ago.

Also, for those of you staying in NYC on 12/15, there is an event called Santacon going on in Manhattan. Basically, a large gathering of people dress up as Santa and get together for a giant bar/pub crawl, making it one of the world's largest gatherings of "Santa Clauses." It is a lot of fun, and everyone is welcome as long as you dress like Santa, or an elf, or a reindeer. Be c

I'll be there 12/15. Am I the only one who is not watching the complete London shows due to the fact that I am going to 12/15 in Newark? I want to arrive at the show with zero expectations, or literally, "no expectations". I haven't listened to certain songs from London because I want to be surprised. For example, have not listened to YCAGWYW with the choir. The first tim

Great Idea, and thank you. This is the quite the project, hope we can help. I'm excited to find some new ones from everyone's posts. Please list them all when you are done. I want to know if there's a good (quality) version of Paint it black before Ronnie wood. These are in no particular order: Hand of Fate, Pavillon de Paris, Paris, France. 76 I'm Free, Oakland 69&

Clapton will be more fun than Beck, and he might even do a Stones Song. I like Beck, a lot, but I agree, the song choice for him should have fit more into the stones mold. They've given Clapton the right songs in the past, let's look forward to another one. I particularly like LRR from (I believe off the top of my head) Flashpoint. I don't know anything aboutF Welch, but hoping

Quoteslew Now that they finally used the choir anytime you hear it without it will be a letdown Kind of true, so I'd think they'd carry this new found tradition on to Thurs and Newark. Brooklyn doesn't allow choirs because hipsters don't like the studio version.

QuoteInnersleeve I've seen the Stones many dozens of times over the last 48 years. all the tours in the UK at many different venues and since the late 1980's many shows in Europe and the USA. I saw the show on Sunday and will be at Thursdays show. I hope the Stones come to their senses regarding the "guest stars". They should drop Mary Blige and have Lisa partner Mick on Gim

Quoterunaway Jeff Beck on thursday I say YES!! Everyone should be complaining more about Mick singing that song instead of complaining about Jeff Beck playing guitar on it. The song doesn't fit his vocals. Jeff and Mick should do a blues song just like they did on SNL and/or the White house blues. Yes to Beck. If not Beck, then who else? The most interesting parts of the concert wer

Congrats on the quotes! Here's my top 5: 1. Mick Taylor's song! I still can't believe they picked Midnight Rambler. Thought it would be something he plays a lot like Sway or CYHMK. 2. Keith's playing (well above my expectations - let's hope he keeps it up). 3. Wyman and Taylor did not play at the same time. (I thought they'd play together). 4. Mick Tayl

It's all about song selection. What's better? An unpracticed Mick Taylor, or a practiced Jeff Beck? It really doesn't matter as long as they are playing songs that are good for them. MT on Rambler was a bad choice... it was awesome, but ridiculous. Don't forget Jimmy on Heart of Stone too, with an extended solo.
