I saw him live in 1992 and 2004, but I think 'Journeyman' was his last good rock album. Post 'Journeyman' I used to have 'From the Cradle', 'Pilgrim', 'Reptile&#

Lots of people posting individual Stones appearing on albums. The post asked about the Stones as a group contributing to albums.

As I wrote on the 'Rubber Soul' thread, I once made a CD mix of 'Rubber Soul' and 'Revolver' (Rubber Revolver or something like that) which had about half of each album combined into one and it was pretty great. For me though, both aren't what they're cracked up to be on their own. The '66-'67 era is my least favorite period of the Stones (or t

Quotecrholmstrom Wilco's Sky Blue Sky festival in Cancun has been a total cluster. The promoter has refused to postpone or cancel it & says they don't have money for refunds. On top of this, some fans were in a horrible car wreck on the way to the hotel from the airport. They were in a taxi van. I've been on that road. Story below, along with a go fund me link for a few of the

'Rubber Soul' is pleasant and sounds great. It could even be considered the Beatles' best, though for me it is not their best...and it's certainly not better than 'Aftermath' for me. This is the Stones' first win, IMHO. As it has been said, the comparison of 'Aftermath' and 'Rubber Soul' is the comparison of the Beatles and the Stones at t

Quote24FPS I have had to take it in small doses. It's enjoyable, but my attention span isn't what it once was for the Beatles. It would be great to have a Stones like film spanning a period like that. Hear them bitch. Maybe reveal their true thoughts on Brian. I too had to take it in small doses. I think I finished the first episode in one sitting, but had to break up the other two. I

QuoteGasLightStreet No. Just one more aspect of how the Stones have not handled their legacy in accordance to how it could be handled. Which may not be a bad thing, overall, the biggest exception being money made. Maybe after they've retired, or stopped, will something come along. But by that point, it's reasonable to think that a majority of the fan base will be mostly not i

My hope, another volume of "Fully Finished Outtakes", if it's out there. The FFO "release" was my favorite Stones thing to come out of 2021. Though my guess is that we'll get a new compilation of hits tied to the 60th (even though 'Honk' came out fairly recently) and the deluxe 'Main Offender'. If we were to get another archive release, I su

But of course some will cheer on anything the band does...or doesn't do... No new album? Great news. Well said my friend. Why? Because (IMHO) that's what happens with creativity. And they are almost 80. We should be so lucky that they are still even remotely creative at this point. Are they as creative as they were in their 20's and 30's....or even their 40's and 50's? No. But that seems pretty common and normal to me. Painters, filmmakers, authors...seems all creative types have their c

As far as latter day stuff, I liked McCartney's 'Flowers in the Dirt' and even 'Off The Ground' has it's moments, as did 'Flaming Pie' and 'Chaos and Creation in the Backyard'. Harrison's 'Brainwashed' was also very good. But I'd still listen to 'Talk is Cheap' or 'Main Offender', 'Slide on This'
