Personally, I can do without Rambler, but would regret if YCAGWYW was dropped. It's one of their best mainstream songs, it's being played well at the moment and always has the potential for some extra magic (which of course applies to Rambler's jams as well).

Well, to each his own, I enjoyed Seattle's rendition IORR, Keith's lead lines interspaced with his nice boogie rhythm and Ronnie fitting in the Johnny.B.Goode riff perfectly. Damn right, that was awesome. Maybe I'm easy to please, but IORR was one of the highlights from Seattle for me.

Quotedaspyknows My mistake, thought you were one of the minions watching the streams. If you were there you have a perspective. I'm one of those perspectiveless minions enjoying the streams! Actually beats many of the old school boots, from times long past. Excellent oportunity in this digital age. Some of the streams like FakeFans' have great audio, I understand you make recordings

Quoteemotionalbarbecue I like what they do. just a question : Wouldn't the stage look nicer with a traditional piano instead of that ultra-modern latest model? Yes, that's the main thing. We can't all join Club27. Traditional piano...I prefer Chuck on the organ..

Steve holds ('sets' was probaby the wrong word) the tempo, while Charlie could be wobbling more during the song.

Keith solos on SFTD and GS from this tour have been pretty good. I don't believe Ronnie would do a better job on those, he does not play with that focus and never did. Like Keith's 'Aint to proud to beg' solo, you can't get Mick.T or Ronnie to play like that, it's unique Keith. I actually enjoy Keith's solos more than Ronnie's during this tour.

There is always lots to complain about if you really want to nit pick the show to pieces. That Keith become the whipping boy for the band is so absurd it borders on the comical.

IORR is a Keith showcase of lead and rhythm guitar, good job, nice ending solo. Dissatisfaction about Keith's playing seemes uncalled for. I like that he's louder in the mix since opening night and more distorted in general.

QuoteGasLightStreet The VOODOO tours SMU was extremely slow and loose and bordered being in shambles. Maybe that's why I loved Voodoo SMU so much, the version from the MTV? awards where they also played Love is Strong is among the best I ever saw/heard. Totally agree that Steve sets the beat while Charlie is more adaptive/loose. JJF with Steve at New Orleans was excellent.

After watching Steve in the New Orleans videos, would have loved to be there, I can't help but be impressed with his drumming. Good stuff! I'm not into the technicalities, but he's pumping good with a really positive vibe.

Fair enough, I prefer no expectations and experience what they have to give us instead which is still interesting and entertaining to me. Would I refuse to accept my grandparents because they have aged and are unable to do the things they once did or should I enjoy what they are capable of today and cherish that ?

I'd like to add to your assesment JN99, that maybe you have the wrong expectations for Keith...I'd like to see you sing, play rhythm guitar and the solo on Little T&A when you reach 80, stand up for 2+ hours with a guitar round your neck and master some 30-40 different tracks without hesitation on the opening night. In the 70s heyday the setlists were often less varied and easier to

Yes, they gave "Out of Time" a good run in Europe, so maybe they can fall back to stuff like Lets Spend The Night Together, Under My Thumb, The Last Time, Let it Bleed, Dead Flowers, IORR, Worried about You. I can also do without another outing of Midnight Rambler, so I'm pleased those minutes are going somewhere else. Jumping Jack Flash is also quite a bore for me since 1978,

QuoteBlueranger ...Keith is fumbling around and forgetting the chords. Quoteskytrench Keith is on top of T&A, concentrated on his left hand positioning and did just fine, didn't notice any lapses, you are the one who is fumbling around Blueranger! Sure pal. Check the T&A video and look at Keith’s hands at 1:18 for instance… Yes, you're right, he did lose the chord round bef

Wow, what a good setlist, Mick amazing as always, the guitars doing well, was impressed with Ronnie's TD solo, the bass and drums and Chanel, so powerful, nearly upstaging Mick on SSOS, goosebumps!

QuoteGazza Quoteskytrench I've not digested Hackney and Lonesome enough for a placement. Fair enough. It's only been out for almost 7 and a half years, after all I am a bit embarassed not to have given Lonesome much playtime, barely know it and for Hackney, I need to revisit it after a good pause to see what I feel about it. I recall when SW and VL came out, how I really wanted

I've not digested Hackney and Lonesome enough for a placement. Alot of it depends on the production - the directness, dirtyness, looseness and riskyness of the effort. TY ER UC DW BB BB SW VL - having a hard time with it's clean 'silent' production...

Quoteslewan QuoteStonesfan2146 Well they opened with Not Fade Away on a full tour. All down the line doesn't seem completely impossible But unlikely that's true right, and it didn't work – at least not for the masses… Gotta disagree with that, Not Fade Away was an great opener for Voodoo Lounge, would they have used it for so many shows if it didn't work ? I loved All Ove

Yeah, to be creative in the moment without trying to copy something note for note, thats what turns my head. Maximum speed playing becomes finger excercises in noodling without a melody. I think Taylor is somewhat guilty of that on the Wembley solos, I prefer the slower paced YCAGWYW solo (infusing his Winter parts) or the more 'to the point' solos of Tumbling Dice from Bruxelles.

Compared to their peers, those players Mathijs mentions were among the elite players of their time. And they were performing and recording under the influence...without them doing drugs I doubt we would even be talking about their music today. As for Taylor, we will never know how it could have been in 2013, had he been given more room to get integrated with the music/band. It could have take

MickT was more in need and accepted the role assigned to him. If he was part of the band on all the tracks, he could have developed his parts much more. A gimmick it became.

Yes, thank you so much for the music Frank. Rockman lost me completely there, why repost Alan Howe's blatantly biased and disrespectful orbituary for someone who has created much happiness with music ? Gotta love Liz Mitchell's sweet voice, yeah I know it's playback. And the stunning Precious Wilson singing live to a backing track. Oh, so you don't like that s
