Quotemjmjr Quotedaspyknows Let them play what they want to play....period. People complain the setlist stale andvthen complain when they change the setlist. Amen MR on Brussels might be their greatest live moment (or Let It Rock Leeds 71). I suspect that either Keith cannot play it anymore or that committing 10+ minutes to a live song that requires the whole band to sustain that kind of

Quote1962 Stevie buried it. His drumming was awful. While we are each entitled to our opinions, calling SJ's drumming "awful" raises serious questions about any ability to objectively assess any musician other than the 8 Rolling Stones (counting Stu). Steve Jordan is a 40 year veteran and "good enough" for Keith and Mick. Really, that ought to shut the front do

QuoteMelBelli How many in here would rather hear that than upwards of three quarters of the actual set list? That would be me!

1. Bigger Bang - Rough Justice (best song by the band since 1980), Back of My Hand (top 5 since 1980) & Driving Too Fast (amazing deep cut) 2. Undercover - Pretty Beat Up (best song of 1980s) & Too Much Blood 3. Tattoo You - Start Me Up & Neighbors (classic Stones!) 4. Emotional Rescue - Dance, pt. 1 (top 3 of 80s!) 5. Voodoo Lounge - You Got Me Rocking & Suck on the Jugular (

It is a testament to Sanborn’s brilliance that he could make an amazing living off of “Kool Jazz” yet double-down and rock it out with the best of them like the Stones on Pretty Beat Up, a song I think is in the band’s top 3 for the 1980s. A giant in his time who used to host a very cool and hip late-night jazz program on weekend radio as I recall. Anyone here recall the radio show?

Keep in mind that no one has told any of the central characters (Mick & Keith) “No” in nearly 60 years. Mick clearly has no time for anyone who will not serve to benefit him, and perhaps ALO fell out of that category and Mick fired him for the band? Keith probably had no (visual) role other than to back Mick when ALO asked. ALO has been to several Stones shows both in Colombia and elsewher

Mick really likes SSS, so that's my guess. Would be cool if Brown Sugar could make it into the song vote, eh?

Closest thing I recall is Satisfaction in late 1965 unless Let It Rock in 71 UK counts

CORRECTED! There's a knucklehead on Setlist FM going by Mcdevittpb who keeps adding songs that the band did not play. After Satisfaction, he's added: 100 Years Ago 2000 Light Years From Home AND Brown Sugar none of which the band played tonight. Stones set list Houston 04.28.2024 I am sure it will be corrected, but until it is, how funny!

QuoteJMARKO I spent some time today with some bad recordings trying to clean them up. One such notorious recording that bothers me is the 1968 Surrey Rehearsal tape. As anyone familiar with the tape is aware, there are speed and severe EQ issues with this 'room recording,' often making it a challenging listen at best. I've done some work on the overall speed of the tape, and

I think Fiji Jim might be the single best "newly released" track on any of the Stones' box sets. It is an amazing Jagger performance over the top of some great guitar work between Keith & Ronnie. Dig this and haven't quit playing it in heavy rotation since the Box came out.

Several others come to mind: Everything from Some Girls played in Lakeland, Atlanta, & DC in 1978 except Miss You & Far Away Eyes, because Some Girls was not released in the UK until 16 June & US on 17 June. Also, all Bridges to Babylon trax (except Anybody Seen) played live in Toronto and the 1st 3 Chicago Shows (Double Door + 2 Soldiers' Field) in 1997. Oh, No, Not You

QuoteLeonidP Great tune, great cover, and maybe even greater live (i.e. Love You Live) GREAT tune, GREAT cover, but the Love You Live version of YGM desecrates the GYYO version & the Sticky version. It is LYL tracks like YGM that make me glad that the Stones & Billy went their separate ways after El Mo.
