QUESTION: Highway Chile(d)

Hello all,

I am curious about when this song was recorded. According to Nico's site, it may have been recorded at Redlands in 1968. I have it on a few Exile outtakes boots such as Tropical Disease.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

According to Martin Elliott
also known as "The Vulture", 26-30 June 1968, Mobile at Redlands
Just Mick, Keith and Charlie

if you listen to charlie & the drums, it has to be an outtake from the exile sessions - the way he plays the drums and comes into the song is a bit like -all down the line-. in 1968 charlie played different fills & breaks...

and the singing of jagger is more a shouting like he did in the early 70´s, too...

so i don´t think it is from the beggars banquet session.

According to rollingstones.net:

- Highway Child: Recorded at Keith's house at Redlands, July, 1968. A jam with Keith experimenting with chord changes. At one point it starts sounding like the old .38 Special song Hold On Loosely! Best sounding version.

'Doo doo doo Heartbreaker'

I agree. Nico's site also says that the information concerning Redlands is "unverified" so who knows

I think Jimmy Miller is playing the drums on "Highway Chile." It doesn't sound like Charlie to me.

I thought that was Mick playing the guitar on that track.

IMO, Jagger didn't played that guitar...

I have always been under the impression that its just Mick and Charles. I think the Mickboy remaster says this too...
