It's just the drum sound for all songs recorded during those sessions.
This is the most finished version of the song, a very nice song.

and thank you Erik for filling in with the information while i was sleeping.
Keith was sure pouring it out in 85 - the audio quality of a lot of these demos is not too red hot,
but the tracks themselves are beautiful. here's Crushed Pearl, in case someone doesn't know it:

and Texas Fan, good to see your typeface! my computer had brain damage for a while there,
and then ... well, it's a long story! but i'm more or less back now, i hope.
