Here’s this week’s show. Sure would’ve liked to hear Van Halen’s “Running With The Devil” in this set, but there’s any number of devil songs that we all wish Dylan would’ve played. Listen to the song by the Louvin Brothers. You can hear where the Everly Brothers found their style and how the Beatles found part of their early style in the Everly’s. Then, listen to “Hippie Boy” (hope I got the title right) off of the Flying Burrito Brothers “Gilded Palace of Sin” album. Gram Parsons is channeling the Louvins in his recitation part of the song. And, it just came back to me, that on one of their early albums the Beatles cover “She’s Got the Devil In Her Heart”. Guess it all comes full circle in some way in the music world. Anyway, enjoy!
