As the Boomtown Rats already stated in 1978: Don't Believe What You Read.
The reel-to-reel plus cue sheet are for real, but not the info on the cue sheet:
There's only two Memphis'78-tracks in that radio show, the rest comes from Detroit'78 and Houston'78 again
(from nzentgraf.de):

790429A 29th April: US radio (D.I.R.) ‘King Biscuit Flower Hour’. Host: Bill Minkin. Incl.
- Let It Rock (Chuck Berry) -Detroit 06.07.78
- All Down The Line (MJ/KR) -Houston 19.07.78
- Honky Tonk Women (MJ/KR) -Houston 19.07.78
- Miss You (MJ/KR) -Detroit 06.07.78
- Just My Imagination (Norman Whitfield/Barrett Strong) -Detroit 06.07.78
- Shattered (MJ/KR) -Memphis 28.06.78
- Hound Dog (Jerry Leiber/Mike Stoller) -Memphis 28.06.78
- Respectable (MJ/KR) -Houston 19.07.78
- Beast Of Burden (MJ/KR) -Houston 19.07.78
- When The Whip Comes Down (MJ/KR) -Detroit 06.07.78
- Love In Vain (Robert Johnson) -Detroit 06.07.78
- Tumbling Dice (MJ/KR) -Detroit 06.07.78
- Happy (MJ/KR) -Detroit 06.07.78
- Brown Sugar (MJ/KR) -Houston 19.07.78
- Jumpin' Jack Flash (MJ/KR) -Houston 19.07.78

It's still a great radio show with fantastic music and this set is a nice collectors item.

rather doubtful that this is all Memphis (more likely the well known multiple locations) and for sure not complete (missing Star, Lies, SL 16, FAE)

ok but am i right in assuming that this is likely a much lower gen tape then the currently circulating sources and in the right hands would provide a noticeable upgrade in sound quality if shared?

This is very well known as "Lacerated" or "A Summer Romance".

I doubt very much that it is more complete except for all the radio talking and commercials between the songs. I'm not sure but I believe that I once had a complete copy of this tape. I don't have it anymore but maybe it can be found somewhere in the depths of the internet. I also don't think that the sound quality is better than Handsome Girls from TSP.

Easy answer - NO.

"Handsome Girls" from TSP was a 24bit-master from the original KBFH stereo master tapes as provided by the Stones (with an uncensored intro at that!). It can't get better than this, unless you have the original multitracks stored in the Stones' vault that not even KBFH had access to and do a better stereo mix.

Anyway, these original KBFH stereo masters were used to compile this program (resulting in 1 tape copy from the original stereo masters) and the master of this KBFH program then was speed-copied to provide the tapes that were sent out to various radio stations for the actual broadcasts, that's another tape-dub further down the line, and speed-copied at that.

That's what you're getting here, actually 2 tape copies down from the original stereo masters. Still, a nice collector's item.

By the way, this compilation was mislabelled by KBFH as consisting entirely of Memphis '78 recordings, which of course is not true as already mentioned by NeddieFlanders and Dorn above.

Yes, I have the current bid at $94.

I don't even own a player, just thought it was a cool collectors item.

Maybe someone who owns a player will outbid me smiling smiley

I don't know what happened to my player. I've moved a lot, lost a few things. I know people that have them and can upload to Pro Tools etc.

That certainly seems legit.

I dunno. I cringe at paying more than $25 or whatever for a live release but this is golden.

well i hope you win it frankly it looks like a steal at that price many here have paid a lot more for various super deluxe albums

reel to reel decks aren't impossible to find but they takes some time getting used to operating (i have a little experience with running one but don't own one myself yet)

now just hope you don't have to bake the tapes before being able to play the themwinking smiley

Keep in mind these are “cheap” tape copies that were sent to radio stations and meant to be played a few times at best. They are 46 years old and probably have not been stored as optimally as possible. They will most likely need to be baked/dehydrated in order to be played back if they are even still playable at all. The likelihood of decay or adhesion is high.
They make a nice collector’s item, but you are most likely not getting any kind of score when it comes to fidelity.
