Let’s see TravellinMan, Listen to you bloviate or listen to an IEM.. seems like a no brainer I’ll take a good recording/IEM every time.
A lot of Rskinno box sets that you speak of seem to be full of official material.
Not sure why you seem to have no respect for the Taper community. You really should get over yourself and stop being such a smug little man, you actually sound a lot like gasbag. Over and out.

Dude, are you on drugs? Is that what you do in mommy's basement?

First, why would I thank someone for something I did not download and have no interest in. I have enough in my collection and and no time to listen because I am out traveling, taping and meeting cool people, There is no proof you do any of that.

Second, unless you have tried to record a show you have no clue about it. You seem to just stay home and watch phone streams. If that's your gig, fine but I have better stuff to do. I go to a fine restaurant to enjoy the good food and try and learn the techniques to be able to make it myself. You seem to be the guy who gets drunk ( your own words) and hopefully not be an ass. I hate having diners like that next to me. I also don't drink at shows for many reasons and I am pretty sure I am in the moment at a show and not in the basement.

Third. you seem to have issues with lineage. It's like some people prefer organic produce but you seem to not care if it's fertilized with human waste. I prefer organic. You seem like you don't care either way. You be you.

I'm very disappointed that there are hardly any good-sounding recordings from the current US tour.
This was better in the past, for example. There were also better recordings on the last European tour in 2022 than now.
Why doesn't anyone from the tapers post anything here?
Is everyone too selfish to share with other fans?´

Yes I contacted him. I have his contact info and will share at the appropriate time. My priority is not sitting at a computer right now. Would rather tape Pearl Jam in Europe.

For U2: Every Thursday morning my grandson and I walk out to the street at 530 am to watch the garbage truck come around the bend on our narrow road. We admire their skill at driving and picking up the containers without spilling. But we don't aspire to acquire their skills. People excell and contribute in different ways.

I think I know why you think I don't respect tapers. It is because I said they are little bootleggers. In the absence of permission from the artists to capture, reproduce, and circulate for other items of value both bootleggers and tapers profit from.items they fo not own. And when I read posts from daspysays about control over what others do to what he doesn't own and ask permission of the taper who has no permission from the artist I think hypocrit. BUT I do respect bootleggers. So I respect tapers. I thank Mayflower for their releases and Captain Acid for improving them. I thank the New Orleans taper for that show and rskinno for improving it

I thank you and daspy for trying to make me a better person.

I know when to admit I failed. Doesn't happen often.

Not sure why you keep insisting me and other tapers are profiting from taping concerts. I wouldn't want your money anyway. Likely have made more trading stocks while in Europe the last 3 weeks than you will make all year.

Well now we know the smug little man has looked down on garbage men, taper’s and long haul truckers, any other group of people you want to look down on..

Taping is an old people hobby. What do old people do? DIE.

Also most shows are 75% full. Zero buzz or excitement over this tour.

Actually know and try and mentor some next gen tapers when possible. Taping Stones shows is mostly older tapers though which makes sense.

Thats a good generalization that tapers are typically an older generation, but it’s not exclusively true. I’m a semi-regular taper and I’m 33 - first started taping when I was about 20 I think. I know a handful of other tapers in my age range or slightly older, but most of them are at least a generation older.

Well said. I started taping at age 15. One of my favorite early recordings before I started taping was Dan's 2/6/1999 Stones Sacramento recording, and decided to start trying to record my own concerts going forward. Now I'm in my late 30's, taped probably 500+ shows over the last 20-25 years, and still plowing along with high end gear. So it's good to encourage and respect the newer tapers on the scener...just try a little more than cell phone recordings!

Agreed. If someone is just using a phone might as well do video since the audio is limited with the phone mics. To start, get a simple rig (under $500) and learn a bit. If going to be serious about it, go big and save time and money with incremental upgrades. You won't regret it.

Oh wow, I had no idea.

But that recording provides plenty of lessons to the beginner about what not to do when recording a show.
