POST: Ron Wood - A Private View Vol 10 – with Jerry Lee Lewis at Woody’s On The Beach – 1988.11.09 (reworked audio) - FP 150
Ron Wood: a private view
It seems that Ronnie Wood planned a video documentary called Ron Wood - A
Private View in 1982, which has never been aired (or even completed). Many parts of the
source videos, mostly shot by Mark Pines, appeared on archive.org quite recently, among
them also many live videos shot at Woody’s On The Beach in 1988, RW’s short-lived night
club in Miami. Most of the circulating videos are very compressed, so it was the idea to get
these in best quality. It took endless hours to download mega-files with 10 -70 GB per film.
and to separate uncompressed audio. These files were partly in mono, partly silent but mostly
in better quality than all we had of this before. For this series, only the musical content was of
interest.
Thanks to my two accomplices for their help, advice and inspiration.
TENTH part:
09th November 1988
Jerry Lee Lewis At Woody’s On The Beach
09th November 1988: JERRY LEE LEWIS. Miami, Florida, Woody’s On The Beach
Line-up: RW (gtr)/Jerry Lee Lewis (voc, p)/Bobby Keys (sax)/Kenny Lovelace (gtr)/Buck Hutcheson (gtr)/Joel Shumaker (bass)/Jimmy Isbell (dr)
This recording of the show by. J L Lewis has poor sound quality: I call it #2 For this show we already had 2 recordings posted in the W’sOTB series The newer of the two is the same as #2 but it was lossy. The other version (#1), older, was lossless and with better sound quality but it is incomplete (containing only titles on which RW played).
A merging of the 2 sources improves the quality of most titles giving them a false stereo effect. As usual the sources have been de-clicked, the channels balanced and the 2 sources have been synchronized taking as a reference the version which will be presented separately on video.
