The 1992/93 American shows
This is a series dedicated to Keith Richards’ shows with The X-pensive Winos in the US, Argentina and Canada in late 1992 and early 1993.
A big thank you to all the people who recorded these shows and who shared them and to my two accomplices nzb and Jaap (Stonesmuziekfan) who gave me the benefit of their versions of these shows and their advice and support ... and therefore without whom this project would not have been possible.
Line-up: KR (gtr, voc)/Steve Jordan (dr, bass, bvoc)/Jerome Smith (bass, bvoc)/Ivan Neville (keyb, perc, bvoc)/Waddy Wachtel (gtr, bvoc)/Sarah Dash (voc)/Bobby Keys (sax, perc)/Babi Floyd (bvoc, perc)

The whole show was professionally filmed by Japanese TV and broadcast on the 24 April 1993: this version was published in the Vol 17a.
The show was also aired in parts by US radio (Album Network) on 5th April 1993’ Keith Richards On Tour In America’ (hosted by Pat St. John).
It appears on lots of bootlegs: “Rock ‘N Roll Babylon” (DGCD 021-2), “Touring America” (BKCD 038-39), Joe Maloney recording published by Krw_co…) but I prefer the complete recording from Westwood One (see the ‘doc’ file) because the spectrum was better and it runs at the correct speed.
But ultimately it was the same recording that was used for the video version and there was no interest in posting this same version alone... and even more incomplete.
On the other hand, I also had a slightly different version in my collection. It's still the same recording but the sound is excellent although a little saturated. Unfortunately, this version only contains the first 10 tracks of the show (my friend Mr No had made a nice cover for it which you will find in the ‘doc’ folder).
This is the version you will find here.
The recording is declicked and the transitions between the titles reworked so that they now start with the songs.
Note: this version does not have the cuts between titles, which are in all other versions and it is at the correct speed.
As there was still space, I added
- the introduction and conclusion by Pat St. John who presented the radio broadcast
- three tracks from the radio version
