POST: Mick TAYLOR with Mayall's BB - Springtime 1982 - Vol 09 - 1982.06.14 - NEW HAVEN (1st show)
Mick Taylor
with Mayall’s Bluesbreakers
in springtime 1982
This is a series dedicated to Mick Taylor’s shows with John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers in May and June 1982 when they toured California and the US East Coast.
A big thank you to all the people who recorded these shows and who shared them and to my two accomplices nzb and Jaap (Stonesmuziekfan) who gave me the benefit of their versions of these shows and their advice and support ... and therefore without whom this project would not have been possible.
Line-up: MT (gtr; some keyb)/John Mayall (voc, keyb, harm, gtr)/John McVie (bass)/Colin Allen (dr)

Our versions are coming from the same recording. I chose the version coming from nzb which was not so hissy in the first part of the recording. On this part I used also a slight treble filter to increase the listening pleasure and the channels had to be re-equilibrated with +20 to 30% to the right channel.
But this all changed from ‘Checkin’ Up On My Baby’ onwards: no more treble filter was necessary and the channel re-equilibration was only by + 10% for the right channel.
The tracks were edited on all versions probably to get under the 80 minutes length mark.
But the recording was running too fast and had to be decelerated by -3,4%. After that the length was more than 82 minutes! So I decided to separate the recording for two cd-rs.
Note a gap at 3’36 on ‘Looking For Willie’ (probably due to a tape flip).
As usual all the infos are taken from The Mick Taylor Complete Works Database by Nico Zentgraf: [
