thanks for sharing this! My brother had taped it off the air, and his tape was used as the source for one boot LP, but unfortunately that tape is now gone, and I do not have a copy.
Re: Post: 1969 Hyde Park - Attempt of reconstructing the WLIR FM Broadcast
Thanks for sharing! It would be helpful for me, as I' m late on this, that you don' t delete your wishes from previous posts. Then it would be possible for persons like me to have a look at your request. Please can you tell again what you' re exactly looking for?
I have a c90 tape (from 1979 or 1980) wich seem to match the WLIR broadcast you're talking about. Do you have more details about this broacast ?
The tape I have :
side A :
01 - mercy mercy 02 - love in vain 03 - radio 04 - Eulogy 05 - jumping jack flash 06 - stray cat blues 07 - no expectations 08 - radio 09 - i'm free 10 - loving cup 11 - honky tonk women 12 - radio 13 - street fighting man
side B :
14 - midnight rambler (including radio comments) 15 - sympathy for the devil 16 - I'm Yours And I'm Hers 17 - jumping jack flash 18 - satisfaction 19 - down home girl 20 - radio including "last rehearsal" comment
tracks 16-19 are clearly from another source, with inferior sound quality
I don't know the exact lineage of this cassette wich seems to be the WLIR broadcast completed with tracks 16-19.
the LP "RECORDED LIVE HYDE PARK ENGLAND 1969" was released late 70's/early 80's. sound is vg++/exc mono. radio comment are not included.
the LP "HYDE PARK A FREE SINGLE INSIDE" was released in 1985. It have the same tracks as the above LP but with inferior sound quality (vg+/vg++ mono), and it includes some radio comments. the EP/single is leftover copies of "@#$%& YER YA-YA'S OUT".
I'll try to extract my cassette to digital files in 1 or 2 weeks if I find some time.
Again, what infos do you have about this WLIR broadcast ? I am VERY interested about details.
Also existing is an extremely rare and unkown acetate LP of the Hyde Park concert, made by Decca France on march 19-1970, (probably from the original Granada recordings) including the following tracks :
