However,"Expess Rip" comes bundled with a bunch of other software (or at least it used to) .
Avoid using Windows Media Player for ripping CD's at any and all costs >>>> errors all over the place.
Also,I would set the encoder to a lossless format such as WAV / Lossless PCM or FLAC .

Free Rip is my favorite [www.freerip.com]
Just insert a disc in to your computer Free Rip window. Your audio file names will automatically appear in the Free Rip window. Select “Ripper” and select format; flac, wav or mp3.
Fill in Meta Data on top right and push the ENTER key. Your newly ripped files will be created in its own folder. The information you enter under “Album Artist” will appear as the title of the folder Free Rip creates.
