First of all, sorry for the lossy soundquality.
Our local FM radiostation (WDR-2) aired the Rolling Stones Story in 4 one hour parts in April / Mai 1976. It's the translated BBC-Story, that was aired one or two years before in the UK.
I taped this with very simple equipment, a Philips mono radio receiver. The intro of part 3 had to be fixed, because bad luck happened. A cassette accident, that we called "tapesalad" in those times, ruined tape 3. Using a pencil, tape and a lot of time made it listenable again. 24 years later i gave it a try again and recorded it via cool-edit to the computer. Sorry for the 160 kb/s mp3, but hard-discs only had a few hundred mb's in the 90ies. Not enough for 4 hours of Rolling Stones... Another 20 years on time has come to send it to you.
A lot words for just a few things.
Enjoy lots of interviews with Andrew Oldham, Alexis Korner, friends, clubowners and of course with the Rolling Stones. Music from Saturday Club & Cambden Theatre in the early days and final MJ words. He was asked (in 1974): "What are your doing, when your getting old?" MJ: "Getting Old? I am old..."
19760408, Part 1: Aus fruehen Tagen
19760415, Part 2: Der Aufstieg beginnt
19760422, Part 3: Ihre satanische Majestaet laesst bitten
19760506, Part 4: Sympathy For The Devil
Please let me know, if someone got the intro of part 3.
