Question about Live At The Max (1991)
Posted by: Haecio ()

Hi,

I randomly got a 65" 4K TV as a gift and I was watching the Live At The Max in Blu-Ray; this remaster has turned 10 years old. That already outputs an outstanding quality but not quite enough, moreover, watching it up close is a superb experience for the screen direction.

Does anybody have an idea if they plan on re-scanning the 75mm film tapes to scale it to 4K or even 8K+ in a near future?

It's incredibly expensive to do these remasters.
I have friends who worked on the recent Star Trek remasters and they were always saying they didn't have enough $$.
I would love to see this done with At The Max, though.
If we lobbied Eagle Rock, maybe.
In the meantime, I'd play with the upconvert settings on your TV.
It can do a pretty good job of taking 1080P and upconverting it to 4K.
Or, purchase an inexpensive 4K bluray player.
I purchased a Magnavox 4K player last year for $99.00 USD
Does a great job of upconverting bluray to 4k
