They must have been hearing us if they are sorting out a El Mocambo release. Think about it, it's not such a rare deal - They are putting out five archive gigs, they better get some diversity there or it would look rather boring if these are just "average" tour gigs! I bet both El Mocambo and maybe some '95 club gig is in the cards smiling smiley

[Pure bollocks speculation from my side here].

For me, their best tour is the USA tour 69, and we Know that glyn johns had
taken sounboard recording with the Rolling Stones Mobile Studio, in Detroit , Boston , Baltimore, Miami, Altamont.

I don't have rumors, but i hope they open their archives boxes with those shows

somedays...I have a dream...drinking smiley

Judging on the shape they were in for the first shows of the tour in Pahiladelphia and Beffalo, I bet they will NEVER release Sir Morgans Cove 1981 - as it's probably horrible. 100 Club London 1982 seems like a more likely release, IF they ever go for a 1981/1982 club show

I agree with you guys on the 1975 shows.....but if you really, really study the music- it was great! The vocals? Um....not so much.

Strange how different people view this tour. I find Jagger's vocals on the *better* of the 1975 shows to be some of the best singing he's ever done....in a completely way than he did on all other tours.

Not "best" from a musical perspective - but coolest and most hard-hitting; and fitting the music
In 1976 it completely fell apart though. Those 2 tours can't be compared

LA75 is a far too bad concert, I would say.
I`m afraid they dont have any good 75 stuff in their vaults......
Maybe they have the whole "on fire" performance of july 09 (cf SFD on Love You LIve album) ....

that would be pure magic.......

Is it really just me? I never liked the july 09 performance compared with the 4 other shows. july 13 is pure magic for me, but the 9th? confused smiley

That's strange to hear, Thomas! July 9th is 10 out of 10 stars for me. I'd rank it even a little bit higher than July 13th, allthough they are both excellent. July 13th has better soundquality though.

Please give it another try....the DAC release "Love You Live Los Angeles" is in my opinion the best source for that show.

I'll really give it another try today. Maybe I never liked this show because of the L.A.Fog bootleg which has always been a pain to my ears. All in all I like the 75-tour quite a lot and it's still one of my top 3 tours they've done but I never got along well with LA 9th or SF 15th. I prefer the Buffalo show from June 15, LA 13th, Jacksonville...

The new bootleg it has to be an audio recording, not something we already have for many years on vhs/dvd like paris '76 or from the 1975 TOTA those shows coulds see the light of day through eagle vision DVD in the future ... like texas 78. BUT ...

i did not hear anyone on this board talk about the soundbourd recordings from LONDON 76 ... so EARLSCOURT 76 thast my bed for the new bootleg ....

take care all ... decca61

Earls Court 1976...that's the worst run of concerts they EVER gave....before 2006

I, for once, am absolutely unable to enjoy those concerts, even the excellent stereo recording of the May 22nd show.

Licks was - for me - the best tour since 1978. Ok, not every show was that good but one can say the same thing for 1978 as well.

I think the Licks tour was quite a good one. Esp. some of the Club shows!

Reg. 75 LA I still find the gig from July 13th. the best. The 9th show/boot has some great songs (like All down the line) but all in all the 13th stuff is better imo.

What about Fort Collins 75?
Dunno what Elton might think about it, but it'S a cracker to me !

Or the Toronto show - brilliant show - love the "Tumbling Dice" from that gig !

The Ron Wood era began with that. IMO I belive they'll publish something where they have the audio & video.
Makes no sense to promote just one thing, doesn't it?

Or maybe the STU farewell gig in London?
ElMo would be great although I doubt it since it's been partially released.
Don't you think they'd put more of it on LYL if their performance was that good?
Only 4 tunes? Makes no sense to me otherwise....

Wasn't there a bit of the Washington 75 Gig on Pro Shot Film? Saw Honky Tonk Women of it - good quality...

Need more ?

Cheerio,

DeeGee

I liked LICKS a lot too.
It was along the lines of 1995 and 1999, just not as exciting I think.

Well - Licks had some fine concerts, I think so too. And the idea about changing the setlist depending on the size of the venue was very good. But there were lots of sloppy playing, especially from Keith and Ronnie.

I was really looking forward to hearing El Cocamboo

What about a complete Brixton 1995? It was professionally recorded and filmed and very different from your typical Voodoo Lounge show.

Yeh it sucks somewhat despite the "best possible quality now" "Keith in the mix now"
blah-blah.

But in a way what the Stones do now is logical : putting out a masterpiece of a show from the MT era then a a masterpiece of a show from the RW era.

Then less obvious things (= things only fans want out) might be released...?

THere are a few pro shots from 1976 which would be a pleasant surprise.
El Macombo would be very interesting...But that performance was heavily overdubbed before being released..voices guitars etc...

yes I sign for El Mocambo where they played Crazy Mama (played very rarely after that) and Worried About You. My El Mocambo version has simply horrible sound.

I also would appreciate to have a good video from L.A show july 11th.

I would to prefer to release the Nicaraguan Earthquake Benefit Concert from 1973 in excellent quality. Hampton 1981 is boaring to me, because there are many bootlegs of this gig in good quality in circulation.
