For a long time I've used Pazera 'Audio Extractor'. It's always worked well for me. There are several Pazera programs which perform video conversions as well.

I usually use Flac-Squisher to convert FLAC to mp3...
...and Audacity for other audio conversions.
Both pretty easy to use.

2 suggestions to convert audio:
1) AIMP - Music player has a built in converter simply go to Menu > Utilities > Audio Converter or
2) Trader's Little Helper - A useful ap for torrenting that includes an audio converter. Goto Format > Convert encoding format

I've also used Pazera for a few years and it works great for me...though I've heard good things about Any Audio Converter.
