Confused About What Happened When Burning WAVE Files
Posted by: THE DON ()

I hope someone can help me.
I just finished burning 26 CD which contained 1 large WAVE file in each using Imgburn. I did this so i could play them on my stereo CD player. All burned successfully.

However when i decided to check them via Media Monkey to play them i noticed for format it said WAVE instead of CDA.

So seeing this led me to go check them out on my stereo CD player and they were not playable..

My question is why didn't they burn as CDA files and able to play on my stereo CD player?

Thanks in advance for any help.

a .cda file is a shortcut to an audio track on your computer.
it's a very small file.
it leads mediamonkey to the wave file on your computer you want to hear,
the wav will be played

don't burn these cda-shortcuts to a cd:
the wav is not on this cd, it will not be played.

you have to burn the wav files to cd,
than you'll be able to play them in a stand-alone cd-player.

there are many guides to do this, here's an example:

burn a audio cd with imgburn

All CD i burned with many tracks work fine using Imgburn.
Now today i burned some Ronnie Wood Radio SHows which were in mp3 and i converted them to WAV so i can than burn to CD and able to play it on my CD player.

However doing just 1 track to burn on each CD doesn't work.
The ones that worked when playing on Media Monkey says CDA and the ones that don't work say WAVE.

The only difference when burning many tracks to CD is that i create a cue sheet first.
With 1 track i can't seem to make a cue sheet.

Could this be the reason?

Problem solved.
I found a way to do the cue sheet for each Ronnie Wood Radio Shows and able to burn to CDS afterwards. This can also be played on stereo CD player.
