Torrents wont start with utorrent? Sitting here tonight trying to catch up after my US trip, anyone having the same problem?

If your ratio is <0,25 then you are screwed, try seeding all the torrents you have previously downloaded.

It´s 0,71 at the moment.

I had a problem with one torrent today. Deleted it and started it again and it's running fine now.

Yes.

At Dime you only have a certain amount (20? 30?) of torrents that you can activate. A new torrent cannot start because all your 20 or 30 slots are filled with old torrents.
What I do when this thing happens to me is stop all my existing Dime torrents wait about 30-40 seconds and click on "update tracker" in Utorrent. Works every time...

Like Mr. Shelter said the only problem I've ever had with DIME is the version of Utorrent I use, the newest versions won't work, you need to go find an older version on Utorrents webpage...

Maybe just download Free Torrent Viewer? It works perfectly. The browser ''Torch'' with built-in torrent manager is also nice.

i have problems with EL, has 2 days and 3 re-starts and never found peers for:

MFG Live 10 Spot DVD

Abu Dhabi has 16 seeds and 57 completions
10 Spot has 14 seeds and 72 completions
Zitrock has 10 seeds and 68 completions

so I think the problem is definitely at your end

Don't usually get any problems with BitTorrent but it certainly seems like a software problem. There are 2 people downloading Abu Dhabi right now and plenty of seeds with open ports so even if you have NAT/firewall problems you should be able to download ok.

I normally recommend uTorrent 2.2.1, you can get it HERE

It works fine with any torrent site and it's the last version without any annoying pop-ups.

I became frustrated with dime over ratios. I downloaded a few DVDs in a row (McCartney's current tour) and saw all of them yanked before I could seed. It only seems fair to remove the downloaded byte count from the calculation of your ratio on titles removed. I didn't know they contained copyrighted material. I'm not even sure why they were pulled down, but I think that Macca released (or planned to) a DVD with clips from each show commercially.

I seeded as many of the FLAC concerts that I could (since the number of seeds is limited, as mentioned above), but FLACs are so small compared to DVDs (few hundred MB, compared to 4.7G. Plus, most of the concerts I had downloaded were really hot downloads when I got them, but were no longer popular after a few days. I was too late to build up my ratio with those, so I was really screwed, and pretty unfairly, from my perspective.

Once you've gotten into a deep ratio hole, you really can't dig your way out.

Guess the only way to get out of this ratio hole is to upload a dvd. ???

I go to Oldapps for reliable versions of Utorrent...

I use an ancient version that (unlike most recent ones) seeds to others like there's no tomorrow and helps me keep a decent ratio.
