CD face claims "MONO" but as we've learned with the Rolling Stones releases is that we never know what we have until we have it.

I love this mix of many of the Stones songs Heart of Stone is a great one (Same as on Through the Past Darkly POCD-1957) ad Satisfaction, this may be the best one but we would have never know it listing to the USA 1980s releases (old Abkco CDs) since the sound wasn't great. Many awesome mixes!

The two POCD 'odd balls' from 1991 (listed a copyright 1986) [home.arcor.de] (scroll half way down to the chart) are the first Japanese CDs to not use the MFSL wide stereo mixes(P33L series and P25L series uses MFSL mixes). In fact Through The Past Darkly (US) POCD-1957 and Big Hits (High Tide and Green Grass) (US) use the 1986 Abkco Remasters. The covers of these CDs feature the black and red banner on the bottom of the front covers saying "DIGITALLY REMASTERED FROM ORIGINAL MASTER RECORDINGS' just like the US 1980's 'old Abkco' CDs.

Please correct any information if needed. I do not have very CD!

I have several of the POCD releases. I started collecting them since the sound was superior at the time (and maybe still is for those mixes).

Paint It Black on Through the Past Darkly POCD-1957 is the long version with the Abkco 1986 mix! It's my favorite. The same version is on the 1986 Hot Rocks but it doesn't sound as good on those CDs.

There are many series and not a lot of information on some (many) series. Do you want to make a web site with information on all series? Are you just interested in the Abkco years? I'm sure many people would help send images (photos) and information. I hope somebody will collect all of this information.

Which CDs do you have everybody? What are your comments? What's good? What's bad? What is stereo? Which are wide stereo.

I love the MFSL "You Can't Always Get What You Want." 2000 Light Years is cool too.

My hunt for Rolling Stones CDs is more about the music, the different mixes (mastering) and sound. I do like the different CDs too.

There are many to collect! Much money! How many do I need? I have bought Sticky Fingers and Satanic Majesties in many series but not from ever country. I search for the best sound and mix!

I will share these with everybody. It takes time and work for each disc to scan, rip, upload and make links to the artwork.

"Together we will gather the information which we are looking for." Yes, hopefully we can have a website with all Rolling Stones CDs and information about each series. I can gather information but I am not good on making a website.

Since the main issue for me is sound and mix, I wonder if the London 1980's CDs are worth having as far as sound goes. I understand they feature the MFSL wide stereo mixes (I love You Can"t Always Get What You Want and 2000 Light Years) but I think (not sure) that the P25L series is all that is needed if we want the best sounding wide stereo mixes on CD?

The 1986 'Old Abkco' have many great mixes but we had bad sounding CDs in the USA in the 1980s. I'm researching to see if all of the POCD series were taken from the 1986 Abkco Masters. Maybe somebody has more information.

I hope this thread will have more people interested in the different mixes of Rolling Stones songs. Some are great and others are horrible!

I'd love to know the differences in the POCD 1995 and the POCD 1997 series. I guess I have to buy them all and share them so we can figure it out (I'm not buying them all.)! I have several which I will share and look for a few more.

About your question with the 12x5 pictures, it's just the 2e pressed issue (see the [home.arcor.de] )
If you take out the CD case than you'll find again the ordernumber 520048-2)

Unfortunately I am not keen on the POCD series, for this part we are pending to other collectors of what they know (perhaps you can ).

Again, by sharing the info we all have, we will all get wise of what we are collecting !
