That's what I meant. To identify the bit rate --> click on one track of it with your right-hand mouse button (or two fingers on trackpad in case you are an Apple user) and the category "properties" or "attributes" (don't know it exactly) will tell you what the bit rate is in one of the lines.

Ahhh right, I did that, it said 128Kbps.....I know this much, that 128 is low quality and 320 is best...(I think)....
is there any way of controlling the bit rate to keep it higher when converting?

Yep, you got it! Depends on your Converter that you use for the FLAC files. Normally there should be something like "settings" or "options". This will allow you to increase the files' quality (I know, 128 kb is the pre-selection of almost every converter).
