NOTIFICATION ABOUT VGP187 EUROPEAN TOUR STUTTGARD 1970 FROM HC

JUST NOTICED MY DOWNLOAD VGP 187 European Tour Stuttgart 1970 ( September 20 1970) FROM [www.hungercity.org] IS A VERY SMALL SIZE [ONLY 144MB] SO THAT ONE MUST BE FLAC TAKEN FROM MP3 SOURCE

I DIDN'T INSTALL EAC YET, BUT I CANN"T BE WRONG.

PLEASE CHECK YOURS AND WHEN YOU HAVE REAL FLAC, PLEASE UPLOAD.

The small size of FLAC files doesn't always mean they are mp3 sourced. I have checked my version of Stuttgart 1970. The WAV version is about 620 MB. Compressed to FLAC level 6 it becomes 150 MB. The spectral view show only the limited frequecy response of this recording. The spectral view show a lot of high frequency noise, even above 20000 Hz, which is not a mp3 feature. The frequency analysis doesn't show the frequency drop out at about 15000 Hz typical for mp3. So it is likely what we have is only a low fidelity recording.

Please bear in mind, that there are two sources for this show! VGP & DAC!

VGP-187 to me sounds a bit better, more punch, but has more noise from the audience.

The other version is on "Germany 1970"

DAC-070 disc two; still available from Keessie:

I got this source also from a friend sometime ago, when it was on a torrent site.
The same source as DAC, but sounding a bit better, unfortunately "Let It Rock" is missing on the torrent version.

Considering DAC 070 basically uses the same source as the VGP187 which is considerably larger in size and has a different frequency respons this upload might be lossy after all. Besides that there's some diginoise audible on Dead Flowers.

It's not lossy, the small size is because it's mono:
600 MB WAV -> ~300 MB FLAC stereo -> ~150 MB FLAC mono
