I just wanted to put out a topic for discussion. Has anyone with good computer software attempted a remaster or clean up of the Keith Richards Honeymoon Tapes ?

I have a copy of this 2cd boot, but of course it isn't very good quality. Mostly marred by terrible hiss. It would seem like these recordings could benefit from a nice remastering.

Does anyone know if an improved version is available ?
Or is anyone willing to take a stab at cleaning these recordings up a bit ?

I have done a little work on it.
Its still a pretty rough listen.

This track is EQd to reduce the hiss by about 80%.
But you lose some of the ambiance of the original recording.

This is done in Soundforge 9.0
Its a hiss reduction affecting anything above 10khz by 20dbs.

If you go less than 10khz it starts making Keith sound farther away.

Also, I always felt this CD runs a bit fast so I pitch shifted down a 1/2 step.

Yes I had the same impression after buying the Hot Lips double cd. Pitch is off, and it gives Keith's voice a whining quality...
