FYI: Rapidshare Uploads & Reposts

At least for everyone who is interested in my uploads posted here: [www.iorr.org]

This week Rapidshare.com has introduced new rules concerning the up- and download as well as the file storage management.

According to this new rules uploaders don't receive any "Rapidpoints" for the files being downloaded from their account.
As a consequence I would have to pay for my account to keep my uploads alive.
And as everyone can possibly imagine I won't do that.

This means that as long as Rapidshare.com doesn't revise their new rules I won't upload any new stuff and as well won't repost any expired files.

Sorry.

That sucks. So you're basically retiring, then?

No, just temporarily.

See also my Rapidshare post.

When I phoned them, they said that they may well re-introduce a rapidpoints sytem at some stage in the future. If they don't they will be losing customers in droves.

When my existing plan runs out I will be changing to Megaupload. I have about 5 months left on my account - so grab Ludwig's and my stuff while you can.

@Lorenz & hedegaard:

Well, thank you very much for the generous offer.
But unfortunately this won't last very long as I have stored over 600 GB of data.
This means I have to "feed" my account with 449 "Rapids" (Points) each day to maintain my account securely.
And 400 "Rapids" cost 4,99 Euro.
So I will have a little patience and see what Rapidshare is up to the next days or weeks.
And if this problem will not be solved drasticllay within the next 2-3 weeks I will seek another file hoster.
So, don't worry.

@Lorenz: we can do a b&p. You've got mail.

why do not you open a premium account in megaupload??

I took 3 years with free account on megaupload, and for me, is better, uploads and downloads are fast. But, well, you can create a premium there.

The rewards are sh*t on Megaupload. Not in the same league as Rapidshare was.
