Stones - Ready Steady Go -1964/65 mp3's @192bits

Ready Steady Go was THE show to watch in England on a Friday night. In the early days all the performers mimed but every so often some bands did it live. Eventually everyone played live, they used to handpick their aiudiences & when the Stones where on they made sure there were lots of screaming young girls around. It was fun.

As a youngster of 14/15 I recorded these off the tv, sticking a mic in front of the speaker, I've been searching cd & dvd covers for a couple of years now & I've never seen these show up.

The stops & starts of the recordings aren't that great (I was only 14/5) but the band is cooking, they knew they were on national tv & they made the most of it. I believe this is seriously rare live Brian Jones era stuff.

During the middle of 'It's Alright', the stage is mobbed, you can hear the singers off mic valiantly ploughing on until the stage was cleared, similarly at the end of 'Everybody..' Mick is mobbed but it was almost the end of the show & they just faded out.

I found these tracks in the CD Animal Duds.
But for some tracks the dates indicated onthe CD sleeve are wrong.

Just checked Animal Duds & what do you know, they've taken my recordings & put them onto cd. Without giving credit. I'll start another thread on Animal Duds when I figure out what they've done.

How exciting, I'm almost famous

Vox, some weeks ago I opened a thread regarding Animal Duds but remained isolated.

What I find amazing of this CD is that the people who made it probably didn't listen to it, otherwise they would have noted that there are two versions of ENSTL/Pain in my heart which are identical but they indicated with two different dates. Amazing!

I missed that thread of yours straycat, but yes you're right. Not only is ENSTL/Pain in my heart repeated, but Last Time as well.

I remember the last 3 trax I posted above as being from the same show.
First was ENSTL/Pain in my heart, that was followed immediately by my post of I'm Alright which has Mick introducing the song by saying that it will be out in a month '& we hope you buy it'. Last Time was played later on in the show.

I always assumed that these had never been issued anywhere, but vancouver posted (among others) ENSTL/Pain in my heart & Last Time from this show, but a clearer recording & Last Time isn't missing the start as mine is. It was vinyl sourced, you can hear a bit of crackle & an identifying feature is that there is a touch of bleedthrough from another channel which you can hear @ the beginning of Last Time (or is this also recorded with a mic from the tv & you can hear someone talking in the background).

Animal Duds also has these two but cleaned up (or from tape) so there are no crackles, & by a strange coincidence it also has Play With Fire & Movin On which vancouver also posted @ exactly the same time as the 2 mentioned above.

Now they wouldn't have used trax posted on this board to make a cd would they. In the case of the trax I recorded, they certainly did.

I think I mentioned that the background noise on some of these is my family having dinner & specifically on the full version of ENSTL @ about 3'23, that's my dad coughing. Well, he passed away some months ago @ 82 years of age little knowing that his cough has been immortalised on cd...

These versions ENSTL and The Last Time from the april 9 show (track 7 and 8 from Animal Duds) were released before on the bootleg Radio & TV sessions but were apparently mislabeled as being from the february 26sth RSG.
