Need Some Help Here: Copying DVDs to Hard Drive Results in 4 Files

I am using Sonic Digital in ripping/saving some DVDs to my hard drive.
They result in one file with the original title I gave it,i.e. Brixton, but then 3 more files appear with similar titles but with numbers added i.e. Brixton 11, Brixton 12, and Brixton 13.
What are those and will I have to copy all 4 files to a DVD-RW one at a time, rather than just a DVD-R?
Or maybe I can continue to copy all files to one DVD-R so long as I do not "finalise" the process? (a term which does not appear in the Sonic software).
Maybe there are different ways of doing this? Maybe a drop and drag?
Thank u for your help in this.

You may need to set Windows so that you can see the file extensions. By default it is switched off.
In Windows Explorer, click on "Tools, Folder Options, View" and untick "Hide Extensions for Known File Types"
You should then be able to see the full name of the file.

DVD Decrypter will copy all single DVD files (vob, bup, ifo) to your harddrive.
No image in one complete file.
But burning a DVD is as easy as if you burn one file or several files. There is no difference. For the burning I use always Nero not the writing option in DVD Decrypter.
If you need some help I will try to guide you through this progress

I solved my own problem:
usually I just go straight from ripping to burning all within Sonic/Roxio.
Problem arose when I interrupted that process, did something else, then tried later instead to monkey with the files under My Music -- that is the only place where the DVD files get divided into 4 files.
In going back straight to Sonic/Roxio and going to Copy - Burn Image, for each DVD, there is only one file per disk and so stupid me said "I can just go straight from the Sonic/Roxio file and burn it straight to the disk from there, as I always did."
In this case, I had already ripped the file(s) and Sonic/Roxio just allows me to burn them in one step, rather than file by file.
Duplicitous Interruptus, I guess u could call my problem. Sorta like coitus interruptus.
Still don't know why it created 4 files per disk on my hard drive, though.
Comments??
