On a serious note, do you have to be registered with sendspace to get any kind of a decent download speed? I have tried to download with AOL and Internet Explorer and both bottom out to barely nothing and cancel out. Even with individual tracks.

A year or so ago they used to be fine but the last few months I can't get anything out of them. I balked at registering because they seem to have tons of adware and who knows what else. Can anyone help out with their experiences?

Well, I did register and I have good virus/spam software but, yes, stuff still comes through. I got a virus from Ares so you never can tell. I have actully had the least amount of problems with SendSpace.

I have more problems with Giga and Mega. I mean, those sites have soft porn ads lately.

I have given up on sendspace and tend to use rapidshare now.

Rapidshare is the best, so far no adware, and for free users just wait time between large file downloads.

Megaupload is a distant second because of the implanted "available girls in your area" ads.

I just tried a download at Gigasize for the first time in a long time, and had to "X" out of about 3 spam pages that were embedded behind the the actual download page. I couldn't get out there fast enough.

Sendspace has adware and speed issues for me.
