I need recommendations for a file splitting program....somebody posted a link on IORR to a site where you could download lots of shows but they're all one large file......

any opinions?

I use WAVEPAD (free on the internet) to split those music files taken from Sugarmegs website. It's time-consuming but worth the effort.

In case you lost the website address, it's:

[tela.sugarmegs.org]

That WAVEPAD looks as if it should do the trick, another popular open source freeware progy is AUDACITY, just do a google for the latest version.

Welcome to the world of audio editing, soon you'll be doing your own matrixes.

yeah I already have Audacity....that's what I normally use to do speed corrections..... but these files wouldn't work with it for some reason. .....but I got WavePad and it works fine.

Try an old program called GoldWave. It takes time and some work, but the results are good. It handles both WAV and MP3-files. And probably other formats too. But not flac-files.
If you're talking about sound files.

To split video files, VirtualDub or Pegasys TMPGEnc XPress are my favourites.
You can convert them into other formats too, and even make a DVD out of the clips.

Cdex (free on download.com). Will split to 1/75th of a second!
