I'd love to give this a listen, but can someone give a brief history on where this boot comes from? Is it a collection of acetates, or alternate takes?

It's a great collection 1968-1973 (studio & live).
The only "special" song is the long version of Gimme Shelter from Altamont. That's the only rare one.

It's a great collection 1968-1973 (studio & live).

Yep ! like so many boots it's difficult now to find one whit complete unreleased stuff !!!
But worth is BS (1) that I called Half-mixed soudboard like one version of WH !
the 3 trachs of altamont
the 4 tracks of Newcastle 73
When I 've baught it I think the 3 tracks of ed sul.show 69 would be great but it's only poor playback !
