Stuttgart 2006 request.
Posted by: Doolittle ()

Hi everyone,
I hate to have to request something- when I'm relatively new here & can't offer much in return. But- a little while ago, a couple of tracks from this gig were posted- & the quality just blew me away!.
At every opportunity I've had since, I've logged on, looking for this gig, but with no success. It would really make my day (& many others of course!) if someone would be kind enough to upload this. Thanks in advance guys.
Rob.

The Stuttgart show is up on Dime and RocksOff... There are 3 versions by now, but the RO version is far better than the one first uploaded on Dime...

Yes. I realise that, but I'm too much of a dumb-ass to have ever worked out how to use 'Bit-Torrent'.

;-) no problem, Doolittle - just download a bit-torrent client such as utorrent then go to RocksOff and click on the Stuttgart show to start downloading - for further question don't hesitate to ask ;-)n

Thanks for the pointers voodookeef. I really appreciate your help. There appear to be 2 versions on RO though. Which one is best?. Also-being completely green to all this- how long does it take to download a torrent?.

It's the 848.29 MB one you want, the one labeled 'Stuttgart 2006' posted on 05-Aug-2006 14:04:54 (click on the 'i' to find the info)

This is the 2nd version to show up & is the best of the 3 available but the taper has had to splice in the last 2 songs from the first version to make up a omplete show, apparently he had technical probs.

How fast you get it will depend on your speed ( we're assuming you've got broadband, if you're on dial-up forget it) & also how many are in the 'swarm'. There appear to be 7 'seeds' ( guys who have already got the show & are sharing) & 2 peers (guys who are still d/l'ing). My speed is 512/128 & at that speed I estimate 6-8 hours

Here's the direct link to the torrent

Thanks vox12string- I really appreciate the help you guys are giving me. My next question (sorry!)- is, once downloaded- what do I open the files with?. I have 'Windows Media Player' & 'I-Tunes', but surely, if I try to open the files with these, they'll automatically be converted to MP3 won't they?. I'm sorry for being a pain, but- I really am very new to all this.

You could burn the FLAC files directly as an AudioCD with Nero or something similar (don't forget to select "no pauses between tracks") or convert them to MP3 with something like FairStairs Audio Converter... And: you're no pain - everybody here once started out like you :-) you're welcome to ask!

Hi,

I attended the show in Stuttgart and now I read this Thread.

Could anyone who downloaded the RO-Version you all consider to be the best please burn it on Audio-CD for me? I've only slow dial-up internet access so I can't download it.
We can trade, but my list isn't very large. Or I'll send you blank CD-Rs or money for CDs and postage.

Thanx!
