I am in Paris now (guess why!) so for once my boots are at hand and I wanted to return a little for all the great stuff I get from here. Unfortunately I realise my collection is quite poor!
Still, this nugget, absolutely love it: completely different early take of Shine a light, perfect stereo sound, superb interplay between slide and piano and Mick with heart on sleeve.

Thanks Olivier, it's a beauty - never heard it.

Enjoy whatever you gonna do in Paris! ;-)

I've never heard it either. Is it me or does that slide have a Ry Cooder feel about it?

Sorry Vox, the booklet gives no info, apart from: London, october 69. I personally couldn't tell by ear who it is, but will take your word!

I'm not saying it was Ry, but every so often it has his 'tone'. Having said that the slide playing is a bit hesitant at times & Ry was always in your face.

This is really awsome, everytime I think I have every boot and still there are more, thanks Otonneau and vancouver for the details.

The sound of the guitar looks like one of the vesrsions from Memo From Turner (love that sound), and the bass sound doesn't sound like BW more like Plummer from Exile (did I spell his name right ?)

Sounds really really great.
I'm in a deep deep Leon Russel-period now, so it suits me perfectly.

Thanks !

That's funny Baboon. I watched one of my favorite movies called 29th Street a few weeks back and they have Leon Russell song in the movie and he's been in my CD player ever since.

Thanks so much! What a great version? Does the rest of the boot sound this good!? What else is on it? Any chance of posting it?

Whitem, no unfortunately the rest of the boot is very very well-known stuff, Mick playback on Don Kirchner show, a couple of Exile outtakes (Shake your hips, Good time women), everything has been already posted here a billion times. Only this cut was something special.
