That's not 100% true. The LivR 30th Anny edition was great. Chess Sessions is brilliant. San Diego '69's great. Leeds '71 is like hearing a different concert. SM, or Cool Cool Hand, per his moniker, tweaks and equalizes the sound of the source recording.
Some like the revised sound, some don't. If ya don't like it, don't buy it. I believe SM has a liberal returns policy. It is not a 'rip off' label by any means. They provide very, very decent coverart, and at the very worst, better sound than previously released versions.
For a casual Stones collector who wants only the best for his collection, SM is the perfect label.

Us dry-mouthed fans were apoplectic about "Cold English Blood Runs Hot", weren't we? I mean, the Sr. Morphine site even had clips of the first three songs from the show!
Don't let's get all sanctimonius about the label, or its recent releases. Render unto The Good Sister what is The Good Sister's!!!
