I read several threads and always see your favorites for best guitarists. Well one name, never mentioned has played the great leads of songs like "Light My Fire", 'LA Woman', "When the Musics Over" and 'Hello I love You".
Robbie Krieger, so underated, this guy has played several riffs that are CLASSIC and no one plays like him.

Any other Krieger fans?

krieger still plays as great as always. not sure if he's under-rated, though. he's rated very highly by everyone i know.

bloomfield might fit the bill - perhaps my favorite guitarist of alltime - he was doing modal stuff that jimi copped in his repetoire a couple years ahead of him....

Not really rated..........

Pete Townshend is under rated as a guitarist per se... He's not a riff-master a la Steve Vai, Eddy VH or nothin' but the energy he exudes playing guitar in concert is unreal. Get a good seat near Pete and you'll see what I mean...

Ritchie Blackmore is a favourite of mine. Undoubtedly, he gets his cudos in certain circles, but he isn't mentioned nearly as often as he 'ought to be.
