OT: First album favorites
Posted by: BluzDude ()

What bands or recording artists, can you say, that after releasing so many albums, their first release is still your favorite? I would not include artists with only one or two releases.

Here is my list, there may be more, but this is what I can think of at this time:

Led Zeppelin
the Doors
Hendrix Experience - Are You Experienced
Black Crowes - Shake your Moneymaker
the Cars

This is an album that rocked my boat, and it still does:

Stevie Ray Vaughan & The Double Trouble: TEXAS FLOOD

(If I need to pick up two albums from the 80's to the isolated island with me it would be this one one and TATTOO YOU - my first Stones record)

- Doxa

As for BluzDudes list, I agree about the Cars.
But for Zep, it's Physical Graffitti for me.
And Hendrix...Electric Ladyland.
The Doors...the grand finale...LA Woman.
As for the Black Crowes, I agree their first was the best, but I don't listen to any of them anyways.

Interesting question.

Van Halen
The Doors

Um.....

Jet
Suede

I dunno about High Voltage. Fantastic album. Dirty Deeds is so good too. That whole group of AC/DC albums is excellent. That's a tough one there.

What a goofy question. This one is making me think, which hurts.

Oh, I know -

Talk Is Cheap. I love Main Offender but TIC has Locked Away, probably Keith's best song ever. Such a beautiful song.

From the ones already mentioned I would pick these:

Little Feat
J. Geils Band
Led Zeppelin (well, their third album comes close!)

and let me add these:

Velvet Underground (in spite of Nico)
J.J. Cale
Warren Zevon
Flying Burrito Brothers
AND:
THE MODERN LOVERS!!!
