It will happen, as will a visit to the US afterwards.

I'd be surprised if theres an announcement re US dates this side of Christmas but with Asia not exactly being the richest part of the globe and with a Stones ticket not what could be called a cheap night out, it would surely make a lot more sense to have the shows there announced as quickly as possible as they're probably around 3 months away

And if you should give a percentage chance on a very small Europe tour after Asia and U.S., what would it be?

I was told immediately after the last European tour that there was a strong chance of a very short Euro visit following the US dates (I suppose to promote 'Shine a Light') but in all honesty I've heard nothing since that could be described as 'solid'.

I wouldnt rule it out, but then again I wouldnt hold your breath either.

No matter mate. You got me cooking.
BTW: Could you send me an sms? I think I lost your number. I tried sending an sms a while ago and didn't get an answer. I think it might be your old number. What did you think of the concert by Keef & The Coconuts btw???

I am in NYC in April next year - is there any knowledge of MSG gigs at that time? Need to keep my evenings free!

No word of where theyre playing but as the Shine a Light opening should be around 4th April and they are likely to be in NY at that time for the premiere, it seems logical that any gigs would be around that time frame

I would be surprised if its BEFORE April, though.

A mate of mine works for Pete Townshend and apparently Pete was moaning that the Who had lost money in the USA because of the weak dollar - he's layed off staff and asked others to take a drop in wages, serious stuff.
I don't know how the Stones finances work as they are an off shore company I believe - but maybe they will have to wait till the economy strengthens in the States before they start to pack their bags. Just an opinion mind......

If that's true, we may never see them again!

That would be Mick Jagger then - the quote came from him, originally.

Possible stops in Asia, 2008:

Seoul, South Korea
Bangkok, Thailand
Singapore, Singapore
Beijing, China
Hong Kong, China

(Although China might not happen, as the US & China have tensions after China refused to allow US Navy safe harbor in Hong Kong. Don't know if this will affect the Stones, or Micheal Cohl, Productions).

Also rumored: shows in India, Japan and possibly Dubai, UAE.

I'm not sure why tensions between the US and China affect shows by a British band promoted by a Canadian?

I would say your list of possible stops are certainly believable although I would imagine the 3 countries youve listed as rumoured (India, Japan and UAE) are if anything MORE likely than any of the others.

Nuthin else.

I'm pretty sure this tour will turn into reality,
till anyone convinces me about the opposite.

The purpose of the tour is to play shows in India.
Then as a spin-off they are looking into other Asian countries.
I would assume Seoul, Bangkok and some other cities are on the list.
Then they say they want to add Japan, so it looks like a tour
in Asia as said before. They don't need to announce this tour
until shortly before they do it. Why?
Because in case they need to change or cancel for some reason,
due to someone falling from a ladder, tree or whatever,
then there is no cost and no big deal like refunds etc.
That's the privilege of being the world's most famous rock band.

Lol, I'll perhaps be in Beijing too then - definitely in China.
Would be good to see them.

Not really. I'd be surprised if they play more than 40 shows in 2008.

Theyd realistically need to play some of the 'richer' markets in Asia (eg Japan) to make it worthwhile. I cant imagine theres a lot of money to be made by playing in India - even for the Stones.

They don't need to

well...theres the small matter of the public being able to buy tickets at reasonable notice, so it would surely make some sense to announce shows as early as possible in what are in some cases third world countries where most people dont have the income to afford a Stones ticket.

I would think that would be more of a concern than the hypothetical subject of refunds for cancelled shows that havent even been announced yet, surely.
