as I walked into a sandwich shop on 8 Avenue.

I once heard Sister Morphine of all songs playing on the radio in a youth hostel in Athens. 1993.

I'm assuming that you don't actually

My idea for the thread here is kind of like the
"What are you listening right now?" threads.

Except that I mean what Stones recording
did people hear earlier today going about
their business in the outside world...
And that you weren't the one choosing what tunes
to play. it could be on the radio in the car,
for example.

Heard Miss You and Hand of Fate back to back on the car radio today.

when in Chicken Barn on the corner of First and April yesterday morning....

The Who Birmingham NEC 1989. They played Undercover in the intro which I'd never heard before. Superb!

not today but they played paint it black, highwire and sympathy in a pub on saturday night.

She`s like a rainbow, in some tv commercial on the tv this morning.

Well, I don't hear Stones songs everyday while out
in public, but once, I was having lunch in a cafeteria
and recognized a tune playing there.

It was a Muzak version of "Blinded by Rainbows."

was watching MSNBC "news" watching way in the middle of the night...losing brain cells with their every word...
...anyway, they are talking about the u.s. primary elections and the Iowa Caucus etc...
and when they cutaway for a commercial, the outro bumper is about thirty seconds of the studio version of 'satisfaction'

someone told me that he heard a two piece joke band here up north had
" i cant get no satisfaction" on their set list, with the the lyrics in German

would like to hear that..

Yes, that's a current TV commercial by Sony, I believe. And, over here, the German Telekom have their present TV spot with Paint it, black, which is cast on all channels over and over.

Today, like most days, I was not surprised to not hear any Stones unexpectedly out in the world...

Yeah, me too. I was not surprised to not hear any Stones unexpectely at work today.

Browsing through the secondhand books in the Oxfam shop (where the background music is usually something from a Rough Guide world music album) my ears suddenly went on "That's Keith!" alert, and I spent the next few minutes happily listening to Happy. Next up was Angie. Well, I can't spend all day in the Oxfam shop, but now I'm trying to work out which compilation has Happy followed by Angie. Is it the new Rolled Gold?

"Rough Justice" on my own stereo....I was actually expecting "Raising Sand" by Plant and Krauss - forgot I had switched CDs late last night so "ABB" started out instead....nice jolt to get going in the morning

It wasn't today, but a number of months ago...YCAGWYW playing from another vehicle at the gas station. I listened, recognized it, caught the guy's eye and asked "Brussels?" He smiled and nodded. It was, of course, unmistakable.

I was at an Italian deli in Stamford, CT that is run by a bunch of Dead-head looking guys maybe in their late 20s. While waiting for food I heard a live version of Sway from one show during the ABB tour.. someone there is keeping up with the Stones and their shows.. was very impressed.

Also heard Baby Break it Down on a New Haven radio station, WPLR back, in 1994 and the DJ said, new classic music from the Stones..

Not today, but I was browsing at a drug store about a year ago and to my surprise Have You Seen Your Mother, Baby.... came on.

Last night, on the radio, I heard Satisfaction mashed up with that Funk Soul Brother song.

As Tears Go By at Twin Rivers Casino in Lincoln , RI .

I actually made a profit today !!

tv was on at the balloon factory again tonight
Ch 13 (PBS is for non-commercial tv) was having
(another) fundraiser...

The prize for donating was a British Invasion DVD,
and they showed about 10 sec of the Stones from the dvd.

The show was actually interesting...
featured modern-day performances by Eric Burdon and the Animals,
The Zombies, and others.
