most of them, I'm glad they weren't released as singles, then they would've been as overplayed as Satisfaction, among others....

releasing a single can often "ruin" a great song....case in point "Stairway to Heaven"....probably the most overplayed song ever...."Free Bird" is another one...."Satisfaction" is right up there...

Keith wanted Sweet Virginia to be a single - "an easy-listening single" as he put it -
but the refrain sort of put the kibosh on that idea :E

If im not mistaken, Street Fighting Man is the back side of my Jumping Jack Flash 45rpm (the one with the cool photo on the front with the Stones in masks!)


I think it has Child on the moon on the back side.

Stairway was never released as a single. It was one of the most overplayed album tracks of all time, and that's one reason why Led Zep "4" sold a jillion copies.



"It Won't Take Long" should have been a single.
