Yes...but we're not talking about a tour. It's a one-off gig.

> LED ZEPPELIN WILL NEVER REFORM. OFFICIAL!

Well, strictly speaking, you're right. No John Bonham, no Led Zeppelin.
...but I can think of another English rock band WHO continue using their name despite the deaths of a drummer and a bass player. And they are still the mutts nuts live.

> Incidentally, there are unsubstantiated rumours that the band will play an acoustic set in a London hotel in November, before the O2 show.

If you hear any more news on this, SD...I'm all ears!

if it is true, when should this concert be (time period)???

like my info, Jason Bonham is the current drummer for Foreigner and they tour till the end of this year in the USA. But when he joins his daddy's former bandmates, than I want to see 1 concert.

LadyKiller, back in June, it was thought to be Monday, 26 November, but that date may be subject to change.

Andy, well if one blinded by the idee fix that John Bonham has to be on drums, then you are right, but otherwise I would say if three members of a four person group are present then that is enough of Zeppelin to call them Led Zeppelin.

Folks, it's gonna happen. I can't reveal my sources(I know, it makes me a tool) but it is happening with Jason Bonham on drums. It will be next summer's big tour.

A lot of people will care. I was never much of a Beatles fan, but I have always been a Stones and Zeppelin fan. I, for one, can't wait for this to happen. Sure, without Bonzo it won't be entirely the same, but with his son behind the kit it will be the next best thing.

I've been avoiding this thread because I assumed it was the same old rumor that resurfaces once every two years or so........but Wow....this looks like it's for real.

Thanks Jayb70, SonicDreamer and the others.....

Don't get me wrong I'd love to see Led Zeppelin return, but I don't think they can cut it live anymore.

Robert Plant's voice is a shadow of it's former self.

Why do say that ? Is Goldsmith known for bad practices when it comes to ticket sales ? I'm sure I read somewhere; it must've been one one of the Springsteen threads, that he apparently keep loads for himself and then sells them onto touts ... something like that anyway. I wasn't aware he was a bit of a unscrupulous character in this respect. Well if it's true ... then he's a bad lad !

If Lukester believes, then something must be in the works...

One thing I do remember hearing about recently was that "The Song Remains The Same" will be reissued with the entire set list from the original show. It will be called a "deluxe edition". This I caught just as I was about to go out and buy the CD. So now I'm holding off and waiting patiently. It is supposed to be released this fall.

Hopefully the show will be in running order with no truncation of songs or missing tracks.

I wrote something about that on a Springsteen at the O2 thread. Got it from a friend who worked at Ticketmaster. In that context, I find Goldsmiths' comments VERY ironic - or hypocritical.

If this source within Tickemaster's appraisal of HG is correct, how dare the man have the audacity to make the statements he has in the press over the last few days!

If HG is the promoter, fans are stufed.

Incidentally, Rod McSween for ITB (International Talent Booking), was always the promoter for Plant solo and Page/Plant when they were together. He is a decent chap from my expereince. Let's hope he is the promoter.

He has the audacity because he is completely shameless and really doesn't give a s.hit. And trust me, what I've written about Goldrobber's fleece the fans first is absolutely true, because it comes from a friend of long-standing who was quite senior at TM.

ITG have been the promoters for Dylan's UK tours for well over a decade now. They've always been great about allowing the UK based fan networks to get priority ticket allocations. For free.

Ok, maybe some others know more about this, or can fill in the details, but:

I heard, around the time of Live 8, Goldsmith was broke / bankrupt and that he landed the deal to be the promoter for Live 8, and this helped to get him back on track.

Does anyone know if this is a load of crap, or what??

If so, then damn the bastard straight to hell, for ripping fans off after being given another chance at his career. What a c*cksucker...

I'd love to see Led Zeppelin, but the more I think about it, the more the paranoia about not been able to get tickets kicks in. It'll sell out with a click of your finger. It all makes me wish they'd just leave the past well alone. Stick to the reissues.

Rather a lot of people, I suspect.
The Stones have been going for nearly four times as long as Zeppelin.
Have a wild guess as to which band sold the most albums.

For every O2 ticket there will be 500 people trying for it.
