Green River by CCR - I didn't have a record player and had to pay my older sister so I could use hers! First albums were Get Yer Ya Ya's Out and Parsley Sage etc., by S&G (still no record player but working like hell for pocket money to pay my sister off smiling smiley)

I remember my first CD that I bought. It was Wandering Spirit in 1993. Before that, of course, I bought cassettes, but I can't remember, which was the first one.

Beatles "1967-70" (2nd hand)
(er...) Sweet "Strung up"

Can't remember my first single, must have been something between "Rockin' All Over the World" and "Heart of Glass".

What memories! The first record I ever bought was "Yummy Yummy Yummy" by the Ohio Express. The first album I bought was Paul Revere and the Raiders Greatest Hits. The first CD for me was Steel Wheels. Ironically, the first Stones album I ever had was bought for me by my mother (still can't figure out why - she hated all that rock n roll stuff!). She gave me December's Children and I hated it! I told her they sounded like a bunch of hillbillies. Well, the stuff I heard on the radio by the Stones was great, so I took a chance and bought Between The Buttons. I immediately became hooked and began my years of addiction. There is no cure!

I Wanna Hold Your Hand - the 45 single

Thanks, Edith...I thought so too...I remember the Monkees lp was only 2.49, and that the Help LP was over $5.00...began a lifetime of trading, that still continues!

My 1st Stones album was Out of Our Heads, shortly after this trade. It took a while to save up enough dough to buy an album, as .25 cents a week was the standard allowance in those days.

I started buying records in 1968 when I was nine. That's when I noticed they had a small selection of albums for sale at the Path Mark where my mom bought our groceries. My first album was Gary Puckett and The Union Gap. I bought it because I liked the Civil War-inspired jackets they were wearing in the cover photo. My second album was The Beatles Second Album. Still get a little misty-eyed when I hear Gary Puckett. The Beatles, not so much.

My mother bought me Thriller back when it came out, I believe I was 4 04 5 years old, but she kept returning it because she thought it was repeating on Beat-It. LOL

The first album I begged my parents to get me was Whitesnake - Whitesnake in 1987. I was in 6th grade. I still love that album.

Hits 93 on cassette probably. Featuring Boom, Boom Shake The Room (Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince) and Relight My Fire by er, Take That.

I didn't buy any more releases for a couple of years, except for Three Lions On A Shirt (England Euro '96), Wonderwall (Oasis) and a song called Spaceman by Babylon Zoo.
