The 3 aftershows scheduled after the Rolling Stones concerts are cancelled.
Bad sales I guess.

Shit, it would have been fun to hear Stones tracks at maximum
volume and maybe dance.

Better cancel those than the Stones shows...

Does this mean its being renamed "Let's NOT Spend The Night together" ?

Seems to me that Stones fans would go spur of the moment as opposed to buying tickets for this in advance...a question of them not knowing their audience.....

anyone a good idea where to go instead? I have a flight a 7am from Stansted next morning, but I am afraid that there is not much sense to take a hotel.

That's the most ridiculous thing I've heard today. If Tuesday night is any indication, the last two shows at the O2 will be incredible, packed-to-the-rafters, brilliant affairs, and I can't think of a better way to end this two-year trek. Let me put it this way -- given the weather in London this month, I would much rather be indoors at the O2 than braving the elements at Twickenham!

That said, an "aftershow" at the Indigo2 in the O2 complex is the LAST thing I would think of doing. As anyone who went to the show on Tuesday can attest, the O2 is a sleek, chic, high-priced, modern shopping mall approach to entertainment, complete with a cinema complex, a "chill corner", a place where you can dance in your own music video and lots and lots of faux international cuisine. It was a great place to hang out with my family, and I was pretty happy with my 15 GBP worth of individually wrapped crab avocado rolls, raw tuna and miso soup, but I can't think of an atmosphere that is more opposite to the Stones image. The fact that they were cancelled tells me only one thing -- Stones fans have better things to do! Good for them.

From all reports, Tuesday was far from being packed to the rafters. But I am sure the shows will be brilliant. I hope the band has some fun and tries out some new things - not calling up 'special guests' but playing something they have not played live.

The O2's a f-ucking horrid place, fittingly round, like a circle of hell. Complete with fake beach. Grim.

I like the arena though.

I was there yesterday. It was packed. Maybe 100 unsold seats, if that, in a 20,000 arena. And The Stones were close to the best I've seen them since Wembley Stadium in 1990.
