That still doesn't neccesarily prove it's the end of the A Bigger Bang tour, as all it means is that Chuck is not available until maybe around November or so. The tour could then resume after that, though maybe next year it would be called the Shine A Light tour.

Yeh Halup .Shine a light is a good name for a tour in 2008 along with the movie. But for 2007 i think there are no more shows of rs.

The truth:

I am SOOOO pissed off that I can't go and see the Stones in Europe.
But NOT mostly because I love the Stones...
NOT mostly because I can't afford to go to Europe again right now (I would love to)
NOT mostly because I may never get to see the Stones ever again on these shores (I've seen seen them a lot... and in their Prime)

The real reason is that NOW, having designed the world famous geeky IORR t-shirt... I've got this "in" with the elite Stones fans of the world. Last fall, I was banging my f***ing head against the wall of the Beacon theater trying to weasel my way in... and failing! ARGH!!

And I can't get to see my f***ing shirt in person!! ARGH!!
Sure I'll miss seeing the Stones and Europe, but at least I've seen them both before.

no , brainer , they normally take a break for a year , i mean 2008 , then maybe start doing an album at the start of 2009 , and announcing a tour on august / september 2009 , its what they do these years , how do you think it could be a month? theyre tired , they need to re-load their rocknroll motors!

Dreaming is god but up to a certain degree. Even is planning could be in mind of The Stones after 08/26, but a new stuff is improbable and thus a world tour. Concerts in specific places could take place : Yankee, MSG, Oakland, Soldier Field, 2 dates in Canada, Milan,Porto, Barcelona, Paris,Marseille Berlin,Munich,Copenhagen, Athens, Dublin and Wembley ( x2 or3 ).

Things have probably changed.

Theres a lot more chance of them touring again than there is of them making another record IMO.

Either way, if they ARE to tour again they WONT wait until a new studio album is ready. They clearly now dont feel that they NEED to have a new product to justify a tour.

they feel ok , and jagger said at the start of this tour that they will do another , he doesnt know when , but there'll be one , lets hopr for another kinda biggerbang or licks tour in this way:
cd , usa and canada , latin america , japan and australia , europe .
thats the way the stones make a tour on the world , and of course , they dont really need a new album , just need to play the new stuff more often as : it wont take long , rainfalldown , streets of love , back of my hand , oh no not you again ...... you know guys

It won`t be that easy. Can't see them doing a new album at the moment. I even doubt there will ever be a new/last one.(Although I'm always looking forward . .)

On the other side they had big problems filling the stadiums both in Europe and USA this last part of the tour.

They just can´t go on like that!

So either a long break (but they don`t have the time . .),
or playin in smaller halls (I`m afraid they are too greedy)
or they have to touch up their act!

In former times every tour was kind of special but now it became a hodgepodge.
No special song selection, the playin gets weaker(mainly the guitars) and there was no fresh blood in the backing band for a long time. No surprises, no danger.
Just a well oiled machine.
Thats getting boring! No more gooseflesh when they enter the stage. It's all becoming too predictable. They became too lazy and self-satisfied.

Renew the show, get in some new hot musicans and work on the songs !!
If we really have to listen to those (partly badly played) warhorses why not at least give them some new arrangements ?! I'm so fed up with the last part of the show.
If they want to go on and play to huge audiences they have to do something about it! I really hope they still have the guts for changes!

I certainly think Aug 26th is the last gig of this tour. I can't see them doing any more large scale world tours either.

Last gig ever, I doubt it - I think they will certainly want to play Wembley Stadium next time, and I suspect they are already thinking about 50 Licks.
I think Charlie will be a big factor in this. I'm sure he won't mind doing 20-30 gigs over a few months, but that's probably his limit, just remember the guy's age.

If they are not filling stadiums to capacity any more, I don't think we need to think too hard to come up with a reason for that.

The Bigger Bang has been milked to death. It's been basically a two year tour. Finish the tour on August 26th. Take an 18 month break, and come back with some fresh ideas. Not to bitch about the current set lists since I havent seen any of the current European shows, but it appears they are on cruise control more now than ever, and just want this thing over with.
As far as the London shows go, I would not expect any major surprises. Perhaps one to two rare songs, but I think it sadly be business as usual. Hope I am wrong.

I think you are. Those shows will prolly be very special. One thing though: If the last London show is indeed their very last, I would think, not to mention WANT, the setlist to consist of all the warhorses mostly.

Gazza, thats Kents sense of ambition!

I do have some sense of ambition. I just think that the last show they ever do should have all the warhorses present. If London on August 26th is not the last show, then by all means dig in to the catalogue. I would love that (And that's probably what we'll get too). But if London, August 26th IS the last gig they ever do it should have all the warhorses. I'm sure you agree. "Why" do you ask? Well, remember in early 2006 when there was much setlist bickering? Then they played in Rio de Janeiro with a setlist that wasn't much different from the previous dates. What happened? The majority of fans agreed that their biggest concert ever was a good choice to have all the warhorses present. It's the same with London..... If it's their last that is.

I don't agree Kent. If London would be the last show ever, which I sincerely doubt,I hope the real fans, who will be in the majority in the O2, would be treated to a real feast with songs that were on Gazza's list

Yeah for sure (BTW: Gazza's list??? Where can I see it? Is it the list that ws made before the whole tour started?). You know: The warhorses only count about ten tunes, so there would easily be room for some obscurities as well (About 9 or ten of them). By the way, we're still talking "The last show they'll ever do" here. If London III is their last show there could be a setlist with Satisfaction, JJF, BS, SMU, IORR, SFTD and HTW. Throw in YCAGWYW, TD and PIB as the semi-warhorses. Then there's ten. Personally I'd like a possible last show to have one tune from each of the last 4 albums too. Imagine Sad Sad Sad, Love Is Strong (Or You Got Me Rocking), Out Of Control and Rough Justice in the same setlist. Then add Midnight Rambler (Maybe as the second song) and CYHMK at some point (Two long songs - Yay). Two Keith songs: Little T & A (Which in my opinion is better live on this tour than in '81/'82 and the studio track from Tatoo You) and maybe The Worst or This Place Is Empty. Then there's also room for two tracks more (I'd like to think that they would do 21 on a possible "Last show ever". They did it in Austin just last year). Throw in She Was Hot or perhaps She's So Cold. That's a good choice for a somewhat rare 80s tune. I would prefer She Was Hot. For a ballad they could do As Tears Go By.

1.- Start Me Up. (No matter what, it is the best opener ever).
2.- Sad Sad Sad.
3.- Paint It Black.
4.- Love Is Strong (Or You Got Me Rocking).
5.- As Tears Go By (Or maybe Shine A Light WITH Bonnie Raitt once again).
6.- Out Of Control.
7.- It's Only Rock 'n Roll (Works better on the main stage IMO).
8.- Can't You Hear Me Knocking.
9.- Tumbling Dice.
10.- This Place Is Empty (Or The Worst).
11.- Little T & A.
12.- Under My Thumb. (Or maybe Miss You).
13.- Rough Justice (KILLER on the b-stage in Horsens last year).
14.- She Was Hot. (Or She's So Cold).
15.- Honky Tonk Women. (Back to main stage).
16.- Sympathy For The Devil.
17.- You Can't Always Get What You Want.
18.- Midnight Rambler.
19.- Brown Sugar.
20.- Jumping Jack Flash.
21.- (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction.

How's that for a last show ever? I think this could be killer. Many albums would be represented by this. It could happen since they've played all these songs on this tour.
