How do you record a guitar so as to hear your faults and correct them?

Plug it in to your digital 8 track recorder.

Realistically I am sure there is some inexpensive software that you can record your guitar on your computer. My old computer came with a microsoft program that allowed me to record my guitar. There are lots of beginner programs out there for around $30 to $60 in your country not sure of the price. If you have some money to spend I recommend a Boss digital 8 track, it's the most user friendly recorder around. My band recorded our first cd on one and it came out great even with all the overdubs

I mean in a simple way just to hear how I play.If there is an easy way to plug my guitar on the pc then fine. But I have heard about latency on the pc.

StratoGR - Check your PC programs and see if it has, under entertainment, sound recorder, Most Microsoft operating systems com with it. The you can plug your guitar in using the standard guitar cord on one end and a computer jack the other end, (IN US we refer to them as 1/4 inch male one end and 1/8 inch male other end) stick in in the microphone socket and record. It may only give you 30 or 60 seconds of record time, but its something.

If you have a head-phone out or line-out on your amp, connect that whith the line in on your soundcard.

a longer latency will only matter if you listen to the signal from your pc.
so, rather listen to your amp.

for shorter latencies, get a soundcard that supports ASIO drivers.
for a free multitrack program get the Kristal audio engine here:
