1cdog : Arrogance can show itself in various forms.

Maybe some folks here oughtta create an own Boards
for Mutual Admiration, like a +100 show-club.

You dont know my entrances into the Stones;
I dont know yours. Please dont jump on others,
please dont step upon others in order to shine
a little light on yourselves.

My role here is Fresh Eyes. When too many people say the
same thing, influenced by the fellow-boarders, I make posts.

But as I also got a life, I gotta go now.

I agree in a way cause Ron and Keith HAVE had many great moments, really great (1975 being the best year, 1976 with the new material, 1978 and 1981-82 when Ron wasnt busy playing football or hanging from the cherry picker, but these days I aint heard anything close to greatness. And the Taylor years were good for the band and Keith. He had to compete with Taylor. And how great Ron and Keith may have been in 1975, as soon as you put on almost randomly a boot from the Taylor years...wow. What a team they were.

Not if the mix is good. The broadcast from Glasgow 2006 has an excellent mix and it rocks. I prefer it to many boots from the "years of greatness".

I just ordered Glasgow 2006, so I hope you're right!

A live show is only meant to serve one purpose: enjoy the people who paid for a ticket to be there.

So, a live show is not meant to generate bootlegged sound recordings.
It is not meant to be seen on cell phone videos by way of youtube.
It is not meant to be discussed on a note to note basis by people who were not even within a 100 mile radiance of the show.
etc.

The quality of a live show is to be judged only by those who were present by the standard if they enjoyed themselves. That's all that counts.

If you are only interested in the music and the music alone, just stick to your trusted CD-collection and those bootlegs where the boys are rising above themselves and play the devil out of their instruments. Don't waste your breath on discussing something that was not meant for people who did not pay for a ticket.

I love to read reviews from shows and I hope they are honestly presenting what was going on, so I can feel what happens, even though I did not pay the price to be present. So let's keep those reviews coming from those who were there and respect each others opinion.

no- it wasn't great.

it was competent and reassuring- and i clenched my fist and jumped with joy, when he nailed a solo.

..but there were also times, when he looked tired, drawn and jaded.

...he has clearly deteriorated in the past 12 months-
there were 'flashes' of the old-keith at paris...
but anyone who suggests, that there is nothing wrong,
is, i'm afraid to say, deluding themselves.

Not anymore. If you cant afrord or just want the music you can always download it. Even if the concert event itself is great the music is still important.

@ LA Forum:

I listen to a lot of recordings too, (and enjoy it), but the point is: the artists are only having responsibilities to those who paid for a ticket.

We, listeners of bootlegged sound recordings and DVDs, are just the ones who choose to listen to those and we have no right whatsoever to complain if the boots are not listenable enough.

Not true. The bootlegs I have from this tour are cool. I love listening to them.

Well. It is boring to me. Much better shows have surfaced like Ladies & Gents, Voodoo In Buenos Aires, Nippon Voodoo, Chorzow 1998 and the like.

I've been to Werchter and Paris, again, Paris was musically top notch by Keith.

His solo songs left aside that is. On tumbling dice it was Keith that nailed the intro and Charlie who messed things up, a bit, he just missed the intro and Keith played around it until they all were back on track with Mick on the vocal. THIS IS THE GREATNESS OF THE STONES girls and boys. If you don't like this, don't go. CYHMK was absolutely mindblowing too. (+SFTD , JJF)

I saw 4 granddaddys playing like they were half their age and again I was at row fith between many young people around their twenties dancing and having the time of their lifes. Again this was a fabulous show, audience, show, music.

Baboon: I don't know what your "Entrances" are and trust me that I don't want to know. Whatever your "Entrances" are whatever that is supposed to mean -- good, great congratulations!

"arm chair quarterbacking" is what I would call folks that want to pontificate about live Stones performances that don't even attend shows.
