I loved it when i first heard it and still i play it loud to this day...i cant stand it that they wont play it on the radio or in bars...such a lovely 2007 version should be waiting in the wings...do you like it? and do you want a 07 version? dont you know its a fresh tune!!

I think it was Mick who dismissed it shortly afterwards that it was "a piece of shit". A bit harsh, as its not bad at all, although hardly a classic.

seriously doubt they'll ever play it again as its been well over 40 years since they last did, but it would be a nice little alpha/omega gesture to play it on a tour later in their career

I think the IBC Studio sessions from March 1963 are really quite alike that Come On feeling, I often put them on after hearing Come On.

Though I like Come On and other music from that same period/sound, I just don't have a yearning to see them do them today. Watching video shot of them playing them during the period is great, but again, I don't have a desire to seem them do them live now.

I think for a lot of people it must be the first record they ever heard of the Stones..thats is makin it really special...it was my first anyway...and its not because of that i still like it...i bloody like that intro!!

A great track...but there's better stuff on the first album that would go down a treat in 2007 (I Just Wanna Make Love To You, for example)

The song modulates; would Keith remember a massive chord change like that today?winking smiley

Come On - oh, what a kick starter that could be - c'mon open up with that.

thats punk rock, real fast, Mick on harp - Charlie doin' the break,
Keith & Ronnie doin' the chicken pickers - what an uproar that would be
ooh-yeah - nice idea, I like it.

You really think so? It was a minor hit in the UK and nowhere else, really. Most people would have discovered the Stones later on and probably via a much more famous song.

Oh yeah, opening the upcoming shows with a reworked version of their first-ever single would be simply great. We had enough JJF, Start Me Up, Brown Sugar-openings already, let's come up with something imaginative and unique, boys!!!!

Sure enough in holland...cause in the seventies 75 /76 Decca released a sort of Rolled Gold in holland it was called ''Stones story''I know a lot of people started from this album ...and the first song was ''Çome On''.

Growing up in the U.S. I have to say this is not a very popular song at all. I like it, but it certainly isn't on my list of songs I really want to hear. There are plenty more during that time period I would rather hear. That being said, if they were to play it live I would absolutely love it. It would be such a radical departure from their song selection as of late.

Exactly! Using the good "Not Fade Away" formula of their Voodoo Lounge tour! I think they play it due to its historical significance for their career. It was their first real hit, a break through song in UK. Very important song in careerwise. And in 1994/95 the song was almost forgotten, and I don't believe even the hardcore fans would have guessed that The Stones would play that one, not to mention to open their shows it. C'mon 'old' Iorreans, would you have guessed it then? Gazza, BV?

I remember they were asked during European tour why they have chosen such a unknown song for their oponer, and Jagger answered - ironically as always - something like "well, we try to make it more popular".

So why not taking another song of first rate importance in careerwise: their first single.

More generally, I like their idea of starting with not so obvious choices, "Under My Thumb" of 1981/82 was a good one, as the Berry numbers of 1978. Even the Big Ones were good ones when they were first time used: "Jumping Jack Flash" gave a signature for their 1969 Tour. "Brown Sugar" for 1972/73. "Honky Tonk Women" 1975/76. "Start Me Up" 1989/90... Perhaps we should add "Satisfaction" and BRidges Tour to list, but I don't think that really is a good song to open with it at all. Since No Security and especially Forty Licks Tour the open numbers has been already used ideas, a tendency I find one more boring detail of their recent riding with nostalgy.
