The Rolling Stones in their prime:

Part 1:

Part 2:

Part 3:

Part 4:

Great versions of Tumbling Dice on part 1.

I know very little about these rehearsels. Were they filmed as part of the Ladies And Gentlemen/**cksucker movies? Or a TV-special? Hope someone can provide som facts, or a link to where i can find more information.

Both versions of "Tumbling Dice" were used for promo films and some songs were broadcast on the Old Grey Whistle Test. Not sure about what parts exactly were broadcast.

I've always found these clips to being effing dull and boring. Band rehearsals are boring.

Boring!?

It's ferkin' great to get an insight into how a band works. The process of creating magic is as interesting as the end result to me, if not more.

Going by his looks, I think Mick Taylor would agree with you though! :-()

Well, different strokes for....

I like band rehearsels because of the (often) relaxed atmosphere which really brings out the musicians creativity. IMO many of the songs played on the Montreux rehearsels sound better than the ones played in concert.

I am remiss in not telling y'all that I was lead singer in a band and the rehearsals bored me to tears because the musicians would work things out and I'd sit on the floor and read magazines, acting exquisitely bored. The energy is pretty low and the musicians frequently disagree and behave like spoilt schoolgirls.

The shot of Keith, somewhere during Tumbling Dice in the first part... It'll probably take another 40 years before he looks that bad again... Something must have accidently slipped in his drink... ;-)
